I wonder what Shani's specialty is? She has struggled with all the builds so far and says she can't paint. Clearly she is very good to have got into the final group though.

I thought that was lovely too. I don't think I've ever seen them do it before.

I guess it showed that the challenge does play a part in the judging, if only as a tiebreaker.

I understand the challenge has to play a part, but it seems a shame when it is the potter of the week's piece that gets in the 'gallery'. But it was lovely for Jan to get that feedback, hers was very charming and quirky.

I am less keen on Raku week - it is so stressful and the results never seem worth the mild peril.

I think it's the mild peril and unpredictability that I like. It just seems utterly bonkers!

Yes, also when he went over to give Shani some more encouragement. You could tell that she is a big fan of his, so it would have meant so much to her.
