Drama based on the story of Noele Gordon, written by Russell T Davies.

The actress has been the star of popular ITV soap Crossroads, as motel owner Meg Mortimer, for 17 years.
But in 1981, at the height of her fame, a studio executive decides to terminate her contract.

I watched this months ago. I enjoyed it. HBC is fab.

Many people nowadays won’t have heard of Noelle Gordon so I wonder if many will watch.

Well I am old enough to have heard of her, but in fact knew nothing about her.

And suspect I missed some of the references to her career, but in terms of a story about a woman battling her way through life, I thought it was great (and sad).

We watched it earlier in the year too, really enjoyed it.

Not quite sure why ITV are billing it as a new drama when they screened it months ago. Might have been on one of their other channels IIRC.

Because most people cant be bothered with ITVx because of the endless ads.

And aren't prepared to pay to go ad free when you know that sooner or later it will be on ITV where you can record and then fast forward through the ads!

Technically it is new to ITV1 as it is the first time it is a public broadcast!

I really enjoyed this programme.

I found a documetary on youtube called 'The Unforgettable Noele Gordon' from 2012 which may be of interest. It features interviews with Susan, Sue, Adam and Jane.

Thanks. As I said up thread for some reason I wasn't really aware of her.

And her story made me so sad and angry and the same time.

Great that there is not only this TV series but the documentary as well.
