So glad that Shirley actually acknowledged that Layton came into the show as a great dancer!

Definitely not his fault that the show has no rules that prevent professional dancers from entering (despite it originally being set up as a Pro-Am contest) but it doesn't seem very fair to me. Even when you accept that there will always be entrants with a stage school background who obviously have some prior dance experience, that's not the same as someone who has had leading roles in professional musical theatre.

He's an excellent dancer but my votes for this competition have all gone to Ellie!

mydogisthebest · 16/12/2023 20:25

No way should Bobby have danced that in the final. Awful song, awful wafty non dance and making people cry! Made me angry.

If they thought it would get him sympathy votes I sincerely hope it backfires

WillowTit · 16/12/2023 20:25

Oh Kevin is there

SequinsandStiIettos · 16/12/2023 20:25

I would have been just as happy had Debbie, Natalie, Denise, Danny or Ashley won in their respective years and I hold no ill will against Jay, Tom, Caroline and Jill, who the audience didn't realise were as experienced as they were.

But I'll be happy for whomever, fans included.

Oooohhh Bobby is playing one hell of a curve ball doing couples choice for final dance

There were at least 2 couples' choices in the final last year. It's an emotional dance for him and everyone watching, but not his best dance of the series.

thedukeofbuckinghamshire · 16/12/2023 20:26

Oh Anton making me feel bad!

cordelia16 · 16/12/2023 20:26

Couples Choice should not be allowed in the final. I like Bobby, but that was contemporary - not fair to the others who have to do Latin or Ballroom. Layton is a ringer, but he's at least doing Latin.

WillowTit · 16/12/2023 20:26

Judges darent be critical

FitYeDaeinYeMadRadge · 16/12/2023 20:26

Anton making me cry harder

Contentious...
If a professional dancer wins an amateur dancing competition it will spoil it for me for all time.

Not contentious at all. Leyton seems like a nice lad, and he’s quite obviously a brilliant dancer, but him winning would make a complete mockery of the competition.

What next, BBC? Strictly come racing with a bunch of random celebs competing plus Lewis Hamilton?

cordelia16 · 16/12/2023 20:26

I want Layton to win, but I know he won't. I definitely prefer Ellie to Bobby. But I have a feeling it will be Bobby.

Inkanta · 16/12/2023 20:26

Bobby is my winner. Dancing from his heart. Thats my kind of dancing.

cezannesapple · 16/12/2023 20:26

You don't have to remember your mum to miss her presence in your life and be sad about her story

Absolutely.

AnneShirleysNewDress · 16/12/2023 20:26

Lovely from Anton.

EvilRingahBitch · 16/12/2023 20:27

Candycurrantbun · 16/12/2023 20:25

Went for a wee and to top up my drink during that.

Me too. Don't want to see any of it.

Danniotley · 16/12/2023 20:27

does anybody else feel that Craig is rather over emotional tonight, almost like he knows it is his last one?

Redcrayons · 16/12/2023 20:27

It was lovely, but I’m not keen on that style.

he seems like such a sweet young man.

jojom10 · 16/12/2023 20:27

*Not keen on Bobby bringing his mum into it. He's said before that he doesn't remember her. I've switched my votes - I'll be voting for Layton.

You don't have to remember your mum to miss her presence in your life and be sad about her story*

True, but I'd rather we were judging him on his dancing. He doesn't need to go for the sympathy vote. He's certainly lost mine.

AintNothinButARoundFrog · 16/12/2023 20:27

Inkanta · 16/12/2023 20:26

Bobby is my winner. Dancing from his heart. Thats my kind of dancing.

Agreed. He's dancing as you should dance or perform any of the arts.

EwwSprouts · 16/12/2023 20:27

Six to Ellie. The AS was sublime.

januaryjan · 16/12/2023 20:27

Inkanta · 16/12/2023 20:26

Bobby is my winner. Dancing from his heart. Thats my kind of dancing.

That's it in a nutshell.

KimberleyClark · 16/12/2023 20:27

Good for Craig.

ThursdayLastWeek · 16/12/2023 20:28

God, poor Amy just behind them

PastorCarrBonarra · 16/12/2023 20:28

I’ll be honest, I’ve been on the SCD threads since September and I’ve noticed no homophobia.

kaylangrish · 16/12/2023 20:28

@Danniotley It's his WHAT?
