I was confused at Lily’s nice box suggestion . I thought she said an ice box. Then Gail said she was going out to the recycling bin and I’m thinking how convenient she’s just thrown one in the rubbish yesterday. I was expecting her to come back in with a big blue plastic cool box. I still didn’t get it when she came in with a cardboard box and the penny only dropped when they wrote nice box on it in the bistro 😆

zanahoria · 19/12/2023 11:33

I cringed at Sam's speech.

They have completely overegged the precocious child thing

Oppositioblue · 19/12/2023 12:33

It was a bit of a shit episode last night. That jumper thing that Jenny wore was bloody awful. She’s got an amazing figure. I couldn’t work out what was top half and what was bottom.

Infusedwithfigandhoney · 19/12/2023 15:53

Daisy has lovely lips but I'm over this storyline now.
Daniel has become very bitter in 5 seconds, Daisy could have anyone she wanted so why Daniel the bore?
I want Sarah-Lous lipstick.
It's that perfect MLBB shade

WiddlinDiddlin · 19/12/2023 16:40

I want to know how the hell Daisy thinks shes going to explain owning a pub all of a sudden...

Daniels nasty vicious side is showing again, I thought the writers had entirely forgotten about that.

The actor who plays Sam - Jude Riordan - had already worked with some seriously good directors/writers/actors pre-Corrie and has some amazing industry connections for someone his age. He'd have to do something spectacularly bad or actively want out to end his career at this point, he'll get plenty of opportunities if he wants them.

Itham · 19/12/2023 18:26

I'd forgotten that Daniel has form.

goMe46 · 19/12/2023 22:00

I don't think you could change the Sam actor,he's unique.
It was so cringy though.

I'm worried about Ed and family.
Daniel was odd,but I guess he's hardly slept 😂

That jumper!! 🤔

Did Audrey really think the charity shop would want a personal handwritten diary?

Clawdy · 20/12/2023 08:25

Yes, nobody would take a battered old diary to a charity shop. It would have made more sense if she'd simply been spotted dumping it in the bin. Although I still think it's unlikely she'd have got rid of it.

Especially when she was worried about Jenny and others seeing it.

She'd take more care or put it away at home out of sight

Yes one minute it was sooo important, her dead sons words then it's off to the chazzer 🙄

The Nice Box - oh dear

Sam's speech 😕 it wasn't so much what he said but more how cringe his voice is. Makes me wonder if the lad will progress to being an adult actor. As we know it doesn't always work out well.

😕

Yeah this. ^ Jude Riordan who plays Sam is OK, and sweet enough, but he's really not a great actor, and when he does a scene where he is meant to be passionate about something, he makes me cringe a bit. As you said, his voice is a bit cringe. Also agree that the actress who plays Lily is not great either. I do envisage them coming back as different actors in a few years, as a pp said...

Yes this annoyed me so much, made a big thing of not letting Jenny and Carla have a look and then chucked it in the bin with a backward glance. I will be so annoyed if the factory goes under and Daisy is lording it in the Rovers, I hope Carla finds out and she bursts into the Rovers drags Daisy by the hair and flushes her head down the toilet.

Honeyroar · 20/12/2023 20:34

You wouldn’t be able to access a dead person’s bank account. It would be frozen when they died. And even if it hadn’t been frozen it would be fraud to touch it.

Jitterybugs · 20/12/2023 20:40

So this is an amazing opportunity for Jenny and Daisy to buy back the Rovers. That wonderful business that they had to get rid of because they couldn’t afford to keep it afloat any longer. It makes perfect sense 🙄

The account didn't have Stephens name on it
It was Infinity Seagull Ventures and a burner account for his swindling .
Presuming no one knew who owned it so it wasn't closed on his death.

greengreengrass25 · 20/12/2023 20:43

Wouldn't Jenny have some money from the Rovers, I thought she so,d it or was it losing money

Shouldn't Audrey be entitled to some money as well from Stephen's account

Honeyroar · 20/12/2023 20:59

Yes I’ve been wondering why the Rovers is suddenly so viable, and why Jenny wouldn’t have any money.

But I still think the bank wouldn’t be accessible. It would be linked to him somehow. It would be a great storyline if HMRC came after them (just going through a difficult probate myself, so perhaps that’s why I’m a bit poo pooy!

Makemydaypunk · 20/12/2023 21:43

When Daisy arrived in Corrie she was a dodgy character who I think was going to rip off Jenny with her then boyfriend, the writers quickly did a 180 with her and she became the loveable barmaid, looks like she is reverting back to her dodgy past.

goMe46 · 20/12/2023 22:27

The Rovers was making no money, they had to fundraise and all that ,with no success.

If only real life was as easy to find solutions as it is in the soaps !

Audrey is complex!

WiddlinDiddlin · 21/12/2023 05:23

The money in that account is all Underworlds money, nothing else, nothing in there was Stephens in the first place so Audrey would have no claim to it.

As its an offshore account linked to fake details, there is no link to Stephen which is why DS Stroppy Knickers and the Fumbling Squad couldn't find it via asking around banks. As long as no one else actually goes looking, Daisy could take the lot and no one would know. (I mean the taxman might ask questions and of course if Daisy were real she'd be on benefits and they DEFINITELY would want to know what it was, where it came from etc, but its not so they won't)...

But someone will, probably Gabriella, as she knows the most about Seagull, I don't think anyone else knows more than the name.

I am sure I saw Gabriella in a car watching the cortege for his funeral and thought she was going to make trouble - but I could well be wrong and it was just an 'extra'.
If Gabriella does re-surface - will she not have a claim on his assets (he surely has some)?
Too much complication and random story lines to really understand - I need to stop watching for a month and pick it up again when they have resolved the chaos.

thenightsky · 21/12/2023 09:07

Who on earth is this Valerie woman? Is she Peter's long lost sister/aunt/mother or something? Wasn't Ken's first wife called Val?

AnyFucker · 21/12/2023 09:27

The original Valerie was electrocuted by a hairdryer (I think) many moons ago

This new Valerie is something to do with Peter’s liver transplant. Maybe the donor’s wife ?

Helendegenerate · 21/12/2023 11:17

If Daisy and Jenny manage to buy t'Rovers and are determined to repay Caaaarler every penny, it's going to take them at least 5 million years.

I think she's the donor's mum as she was talking about her son having a car accident. It was a bit of a random storyline though.

I've never liked Daisy - normally characters are horrible then you start to like them but her facial expressions give me the ick and I still don't like her.
