He’s such a pointless character now. Don’t know what he’s been doing since he finished school, never really interacts with his family. Amy is the same age but we never see them hanging out together.

I think he was kind to Amy during one of her crises. Simon needs to go and find himself. Ken should advise him. What a brilliant dad Ken was.
The boyfriend is from a place not Coronation Street so must be dodgy. He reminds me of Mary's son. Who wasn't a marine biologist. I wonder if Mary is no contact or just doesn't mention her son and grandchild.
