Tories have publicly said Nigel can join them. The show is a platform for him (an on the record racist) to legitimatise himself, so that in the election after next, when the Tories try to get back in, he can run for leader. Playbook is pretty obvious...

I feel like Sam would be happy if Tony won anyway as long as he gets to still be mates with him! (Although might have to stop him from running onto the bridge to hug him during the press shots!)

I think they’ll do the last meal after Nige is away. Still got 3/4 an hour to go.

He can’t just become leader though can he? He has to be elected as an MP first before he can become Tory leader.
Hes too far right for the Tories anyway

Rumours of him joining the tory party have been bubbling for a few months now, I wouldn't be surprised at all.
