WDTABNONONO · 10/12/2023 09:50

I've been lurking on the threads but couldn't see a new one so made one for tonight.

Who is going to win?

My prediction:

3rd Nigel
Second Tony
Winner Sam

I agree with you OP but I’d be happy if Tony won too. They’ve both been thoroughly entertaining. Can’t believe it’s the final already.

WillowTit · 10/12/2023 09:56

be a close call between sam and tony i think

meltingpott · 10/12/2023 09:57

I can't believe Nigel is still in, I appreciate he has some die hard fans who support him politically, but he has been so boring in my opinion!

WDTABNONONO · 10/12/2023 09:57

Must say I really like Tony he's very dry and slow warm as well. He's got really good with Sam. I had heard of him but knew very little about him prior to the Jungle.

Sam is so full of energy and enthusiasm and I imagine it's infectious.

Nigel has came across as pretty level headed and not really any different to the average man of his age. I don't love his politics but he's not offensive at all in the jungle.

I think the producers are running the show:

Nella suddenly calms down and stops picking arguments with people - she then isn't first out
Fred is shown making a lot of comments when Josie is cooking - he makes an early exit.
Josie has a showdown with Fred but we never see that - she comes 4th.

Sam is probably being coached to be enthusiastic about everything - it looks good on the show if they shine a positive spotlight on ADHD. He's getting a favourable edit to try to help him win.
Tony is his buddy in there so gets a favourable edit as well.

Pushing Sam to win may also be tactical to try and stop Nigel winning which won't reflect so well on the show as an entertainment show. He is still the Honorary President of the Reform Party (formerly Brexit party) and I would think he's looking for a way to get back into a paid or more influential political role. Why else would he be trying to get 25% of the airtime? He wasn't just there for the large paycheque.

See I find it the opposite!

I am not aligned with him politically at all.

But I respect his stability to death calmly and think he's been good in the show.

I didn't rate him above Nick or Marvin but I didn't rate Josie above them either 🤷‍♀️

I think Nigel does have the additional motivate to further his career. He did say he may consider going for PM and as much as I don't mind him in the show I would NOT favour him as the PM! His daughter does seem really lovely though.

I think it would be hard for Sam to keep up the act 24/7. He may amp it up a bit but do think he is quite excitable as I know a few ADHD adults and there is often a lot of restless energy though not always hyperactivity in behaviours like hugging etc.

Tony I think is a lovely bloke anyway doesn't try to be what he isn't and I would say he's the one I like the most on a general personality front.

He might not be doing it 24/7 but there are enough moments each day where he is enthusiastic that they only show him that way. We see about 10 mins of his behaviour per day. As long as they can get clips of his enthusiasm from the morning, afternoon and evening they can portray him as always like that even if he has lots of quieter moments.

Inkanta · 10/12/2023 10:28

Yes Choux - I think you might be right. Feels very staged. Not real reality. Can't believe they didnt show the showdown. Glad Josie mentioned it - so that we know there was one!

rockingbird · 10/12/2023 10:30

I'd love to see Tony win but I fear it might be Nigel 🫣 either way the three of them have been entertaining in their own way so I'm not overly bothered who takes the crown now Josie has gone!

RedRiverShore4 · 10/12/2023 10:38

I'm just glad that Josie isn't going to win, I think it will be Sam win but not sure about second, my votes have been for Nick until he went out, then Nigel who gets my votes now but I like Tony as well. Sam seems nice but I would prefer it to be Nigel, Tony, Sam.

jojom10 · 10/12/2023 10:56

Nigel can't just 'go for PM'! That isn't how our parliamentary system works. The PM is the leader of the party which hold the majority of seats in the House of Commons. And the only people who vote for the PM are the members of that party.

RedRiverShore4 · 10/12/2023 11:00

Don't you have to be a MP to be PM, though I'm sure if they wanted they could shoehorn David Cameron in for PM somehow but NF is a bit of an unlikely stretch.

It feels really edited this Yr. I'm anti nigel politically but he's exactly like i expected just getting on with things and tasks . I don't care who wins between Tony and Sam .
This is the final viewing Yr for me as I'm getting increasingly uncomfortable with the taped mouths and claws of the animals. its a lot of killing of insects and stressing of all the animals used just for entertainment.

I've never seen a series as manipulated as this one and I've struggled with it. Remember the night at the museum trial where Nella could easily find her way round despite being "in the dark".

Also bar the James bond trial, eating and drinking, the trials have seemed much easier. Remember when they used to be shut in a coffin full of critters?

I'm guessing tonight Sam will do the eating one then the others will be some sort of helmet full of bugs then another lying in the open in them. Yawn. It's the final, the trials need to be hard. Even A drinking one for one person would be harder.

I predict

1st Sam
2nd Nigel
3rd Tony

I want

1st Tony
2nd Nigel
3rd Sam

I think Sam is nailed on winner

Ah found you. Was just about to start one as couldn't see one and saw this

Yes be interesting to know if all say sam isn't as crazy all the time 24/7 - 23 days or how ever long they are there

lollipoprainbow · 10/12/2023 11:51

It's definitely watered down compared to some years where there were explosive arguments!

jay55 · 10/12/2023 11:53

I think Sam went in really prepared. He knows from other reality shows that boredom is a big problem and went in with a lot of ideas for keeping them entertained during the slow periods.

Aquarius1234 · 10/12/2023 11:54

I don't get why ITV were so desperate for Nigel???
Hancock was paid 400k which is loads.
Nigel must have kept saying no until the 1.5 million figure or whatever it was..
Or ITV was happy with 1.5 right from the start if that's what the agent said to ITV.
They must have watched Nigel on TV and seen how his personality is, I don't get it.
I don't understand paying that much, when they have never paid anyone more than 500k.

burnoutbabe · 10/12/2023 12:07

Maybe by showdown josie just meant when she said to Fred "back off" which we saw.

I think Sam will win. He had at least made camp more entertaining by making up plays or songs etc. you need something to do all day.

Tony had been amusing g with his eye rolls at Sam and trying to bite his lips. But you could see on the cyclone when he joined Sam sliding down the slopes he probably enjoys indulging his boyish side (as opposed to his hard man side)

Nigel has been fine. Amusing on the call centre task and reflecting a more normal Middle Aged person. He'd be a person you'd probably be happy to have in your office (ignoring different politics). Good to have in here to have a variety of types.

So whilst I voted to get Nigel into the final 3 I don't care who wins. Like with nick Hancock I think getting to final 3 is achievement enough.

JaneJeffer · 10/12/2023 12:08

I thought Josie and Fred's showdown seemed to be more of a jokey quick draw thing hence her cyclone name Finger Slinger?

JaneJeffer · 10/12/2023 12:11

He'd be a person you'd probably be happy to have in your office
Until he starts perving over you 🤢

(look I'll perv over Tony if I want to OK)

MillarMountVandal · 10/12/2023 12:20

Sam FTW 🙂

Agree
3 times the average amount

Hell I would do it for £1.5 million

Prob happily do it for £100k

Well not happily as those spiders are huge but said before rats and snakes don't bother me
