WDTABNONONO · 10/12/2023 09:50

I've been lurking on the threads but couldn't see a new one so made one for tonight.

Who is going to win?

My prediction:

3rd Nigel
Second Tony
Winner Sam

Was he definitely paid £1.5m though? I honestly don't believe it.

Anyway, Tony for the win for me.

Netaporter · 10/12/2023 13:07

My prediction:

  1. Nigel
  2. Tony
  3. sam

i think Sam’s edits recently have been less than favourable. He was loveable, now just irritating. Nigel’s team have called ITV out so he’s had more time which I think will equate to more votes…I don’t think Tony has the fanbase to support a win (sorry @Blondeshavemorefun )

RedRiverShore4 · 10/12/2023 13:10

If he didn't get £1.5 million, I'm sure he will say something as it's been splashed all over the papers, whatever he and the other campmates got, JLS apparently got £250k, the highest of the rest of the campmates, it will be dwarfed by what Ant and Dec get for being unfunny.

Lunde · 10/12/2023 13:18

I think that Nigel is playing a long game and he's playing it pretty well

I'm a Celeb is part of his image rehabilitation - he has this ability to stay in politician mode of appearing calm and reasonable and having the final 5 or 6 Celebs who don't want conflict or debate. He has managed to get his talking points over well on certain political issues discussed in camp by appearing cool and measured (Brexit for example). He has refused to be drawn on others and noticeably changed the subject on pre-Brexit spin such as the extra £350 million a WEEK for the NHS. And he has stayed well away from some of his really controversial opinions such as wanting to ban gay marriage.

Farage was spotted at the Conservative Party conference a couple of months ago so I wonder if this is his long term goal. If the Tories lose the General election there will be a huge internal fight in the Tory party and if the Sunella supporters take power there may be a role for Farage. If he rejoins - remember Farage was a member of the Conservative Party from 1978 until 1992 during the Thacherite years - he could be considered for a Cabinet role. Farage is not that old - at 59 he is only 2 years older than David Cameron

He looks 10 years older than Cameron! Farage is a heavy smoker though, that'll have aged him.

The BBC summary of today’s papers says that there’s a story in the Mail in Sunday about a Tory faction wanting to push a combined Boris-Farage leadership ticket. God help us all! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs-the-papers-67673453

The Sunday Telegraph and Sunday Express

Newspaper headlines: Rwanda legal concern and Royal 'Christmas cracker'

Several of Sunday's papers feature challenges to the government's Rwanda deportation plans.

Catching up now

Definitely think the cyclone wasn't as steep

ilovebrie8 · 10/12/2023 13:51

Cyclone was tamer than prior years!

Glad Josie gone she didn’t pull her weight with trials and was two faced.

I think either Sam or Nigel will win …

Paul2023 · 10/12/2023 13:51

With regards to Nigel, he was part of UKIP in 1993 when the Tories under John Major joined the Maastrict Treaty. Thats when he left the Conservative Party.

Although Nigel Farage and UKIP didn’t really get real media coverage until the 2010. I think it was in 2015 that UKIP got more single votes than the Lib Dems. The conservatives won that election but promised an EU referendum.

The whole bus and £350 million a week , to be fair to Nigel Farage he isn’t an MP or in government so he couldn’t deliver that promise anyway. I’m not sure anyone who voted for Brexit did so because of that bus slogan - no leave voter I’ve spoken to have said they did so because of the leave bus.

Farage has been in teh thick of the EU for best part of 30 years, he must have spent many years in Brussels. I would think he knows more about the EU than most people do.

What I’ve noticed about Garage is he presents facts calmly - people from the left don’t what he says and starts screaming and shouting.

With regards to gay marriage people also forget that Sadiq Khan ( who is Muslim ) would probably secretly be against it because his religion forbids it. Catholics don’t agree with gay marriage either.

No one asks Sadiq Khan what his views as a Muslim is on subjects such as gay marriage because it doesn’t suit the narrative.

marshmallowmix · 10/12/2023 14:44

Dosie Gibson out! What a horrible nasty person …ITV pushing her monumentally failed!

Farage has been one of the better camp mates …he’s come across pretty well!

Ant & Dec pair of numpties and not funny any longer …

Good post @Paul2023

Jimmyneutronsforehead · 10/12/2023 15:33

Is any one else getting a takeaway to eat while the finals on, and what you having?

Every one here can't seem to make their mind up, I want a nice greasy kebab but seem to be outvoted for Chinese.

WillowTit · 10/12/2023 15:40

we are having a casserole, currently in the oven!

TitsInAbsentia · 10/12/2023 15:40

Oh hell no! I'll have had my dinner way before then, don't want to risk throwing it back up!

Cascais · 10/12/2023 15:43

Tony

shamelesss · 10/12/2023 15:55

Marking place for later!

Tony for first I hope, he’s the most genuine and not playing up or down for the cameras

whynotwhatknot · 10/12/2023 15:57

glad josie went-tony was hilarious his face when they gave him red shorts-ant and dec had a right laugh with him

no idea what josie was saying re showdown with fred but then she said i won-whatever that means

ant and dec saying once again you did so much-erm like what?

Mirrormeback · 10/12/2023 16:05

I think the producers thought we'd find the Josie 'cry cry' Fred parts funny maybe as surely they want to elevate her presence for This Morning

Obviously it backfired on them

Mirrormeback · 10/12/2023 16:06

I think Sam is just being Sam

No way can he fake being himself

He's absolutely genuine imho

I wonder whether Josie thinks doing her "stand back and let me cook Fred!" was a "showdown"? They have generally been a group this year where everyone has put their head down and avoided conflict.

ilovebrie8 · 10/12/2023 16:12

Eating trial tonight 🤮not my favourite!

Tony in his red shorts 🤭! Wish I’d not seen Nigel in his 😳nope!

hmm maybe it went on longer than they showed

i really dont think sam puts it on they just show an edit where hes hyper we clearly see he takes naps hes probably exhaustd most of the time

whynotwhatknot · 10/12/2023 16:19

sam is favourite to win by a mile would take alot for him to lose it now

nigel is second but tony not far behind could go either way with second and third place

i voted for tony hes been down to earth even a bit srumpy which i apprciate and having fun aswell

Cloudhopping · 10/12/2023 16:28

I don't understand the dislike for Josie on here. Yes she didn't come off well in the 'cry, cry, cry' scene but it's hardly the bitchiest thing anyone has ever said. Fred was so interfering and patronising.

Can't help thinking the dislike for Josie stems from sexism-ie how we expect different standards from women before we can allow them to be 'likeable'. Can anyone name anything else 'nasty' that she did during her time in the jungle?

Netaporter · 10/12/2023 16:29

@Jimmyneutronsforehead it’s Sunday? The Law here says a roast must be eaten 😂

@greengreengrass25 i really didn’t need to know that old Nige (Ahem) ‘dresses’ to the right 🤢😂
