I haven't seen much discussion around the Bake Off winner, even though I thought the result was atrocious (just like 2019). And with nothing better to do this time of the morning, I'm starting another thread on it lol.
Thoughts on this series:
It was boring
Alison is okay - neither great nor bad, better than Matt
Noel doesn't really suit Bake Off (I love him, but he should stick to adult comedy)
Paul is his usual horrendous self
Prue is alright, but I miss Mary :(
It's completely ridiculous that Matty won. He's the most ridiculous winner since David in 2019. His showstopper in the final wasn't half as good as some of the bakes in episode 1.
Josh should've won.
Tasha should've come second.
Nicky, Rowan, Abbi and especially Cristy should've got further than the did
Cristy, Tasha and Josh should've been the finalists
Dan got further than he should have
Abbi & Tasha were the most unique (regarding flavours)
Saku was the best personality
Saku, Tasha & Nichola were the best artists (the turtle, robin and beaver)
Prue and Paul were extremely rude to Josh in the final - the whole atmosphere of Bake Off is flat and cold now, which ruins what made it once great.
The people who were rooting for Matty were rooting for his personality/story only. I have nothing against him, just the unfairness of the judging.
Saku was a way better personality than Matty anyway (if we were going on that)
And Tasha would've been a more inspiring story!
Just my two cents. The only Bake Off contestant cook books I'd buy would be Kim-Joy's, Liam Charles' and Nadiya's. Here's a cool naanwich recipe from Nadiya
But the clip at the end with Nicky & Saku waving was pure joy and what Bake Off is all about :) they are Bake Off personified.
Oh, don't go to the Bake Off subreddit btw, they're a bunch of bullies! It's a really toxic subreddit. They also love Paul & Matt and hate on Rahul all the time - I guess we know who is making Bake Off go downhill 😔
