And if you've now seen it, what are your thoughts?

I'm predicting I will love it no matter what. But look forward to discussing it.

Ncuti was on Radio 2 yesterday, he said the whole business with him having trousers was purely down to DT getting to wardrobe/on set before him and getting first pick of which half of the clothes he got. Which does imply that 10 was going commando!

Sceptical on this cos didn’t they both have shirts on?

Perhaps the doctor has two hearts and two pairs of pants 😀

DT had a long sleeved vest type thing on. It's probably cold in space!

RADIOOFF · 14/12/2023 23:05

Hmm … I’d love to see the script for that section of the episode.

Given how staggeringly beautiful the new Doctor is, RTD may well have indicated that the bi-generation should leave Fourteen with rather more, and Fifteen with rather less of their momentarily shared wardrobe. And NG might have politely declined …

Ah! Fair enough. Anyway, can’t say I didn’t enjoy the visuals…

Who picked up the gold tooth with the Master trapped inside it? Someone with red nail polish.

RedToothBrush · 17/12/2023 11:25

DH was reading something about how the toymaker had the wrong number of fingers - and this was after the previous episode where the aliens couldn't quite replicate the Dr and Donna accurately.

Then the tooth was left after the supposed banishment.

The implications being there is a story arc here which is unfinished and will follow the doctor.

pickledandpuzzled · 17/12/2023 12:04

I’ve been saying Ncuti’s name wrong all thread.

Sunbird24 · 17/12/2023 12:29

Me too. I think it’s forgivable to pronounce something phonetically if you’ve only ever read it and never heard it (until someone corrects you). Look at words like epitome and segue!

beguilingeyes · 17/12/2023 12:33

I pronounced segue as seeg for years. I just didn't link that word with 'segway'.

thirdfiddle · 17/12/2023 12:43

How is Ncuti pronounced please? I think I'm prob doing it wrong too.

"Shootie" is the closest I can't get to a phonetic spelling.

Interesting - how they said it on the radio (which may or may not be correct!) sounded closer to chew-tee

pickledandpuzzled · 17/12/2023 16:20

The cast were all saying JShewtie, I’d say. Slightly jjjsh rather than sh.

I was doing a swallowed N- erN Coo T
After a friend’s similarly started name.

pickledandpuzzled · 17/12/2023 16:20

Oops! Missed his video!

Rummikub · 17/12/2023 21:38

Was it not on Saturday?
just went to catch up.

Terfosaurus · 17/12/2023 21:42

There were 3 specials. Then Christmas Day I think. Although I might have imagined that but.

Rummikub · 17/12/2023 21:45

Ahh I was just getting into my dr who routine then

But noticed Torchwood is on iplayer!

BezMills · 18/12/2023 02:07

All of Who is on iplayer. Like all of it! I am going to start a rewatch from my earliest Who memory, Destiny of the Daleks, first shown Sep 1979.

Rummikub · 18/12/2023 02:26

yes, theres even a CBeebies story!

Has anyone seen Class? How does that fit in?

beguilingeyes · 18/12/2023 06:39

Are the Sarah Jane Adventures on iPlayer? I never saw many of those and I'm still sad about Liz Slade.
The problem for the specials, for me, is that they didn't feel particularly special. Unlike the 50th, Day Of The Doctor, which I can watch forever.
Did anyone see what Christopher Eccleston said about RTD last week. What did they do to him...

Class is brilliant, I’m so annoyed it only got one season. It’s in the Capaldi era (he’s in the first few mins) and set amongst 6th formers in the school where Clara and Danny taught.

SheilaFentiman · 18/12/2023 07:21

@beguilingeyes yes, it was a miniseries more than a “special”. Like the last few Tenth doctor ones (The waters of Mars etc)

I agree that the day of the doctor was terrific.

Rummikub · 18/12/2023 07:44

@beguilingeyes yes the Sarah Jane eps are on iplayer too!

@SheilaFentiman Thsnks I’ll give that a watch.

Yes I agree it didn't seem like a traditional anniversary special. I suppose the 50th was a bigger anniversary, but I remember going to the cinema to see it, with my son in his little cyberman outfit, and loads of people dressed up as different characters! It felt really thrilling and a real event. And seeing the old Doctors at the end. I wonder if the others just weren't available. I think Capaldi said he didn't want to go back and obviously Eccleston. Matt is now the male lead in House of Dragon which is a very long shoot, but I would have thought they could have been persuaded to do one line or something or used old footage, although I did enjoy them as just episodes of Doctor who.
Re Eccleston, the story changes. It was rumoured he didn't like the way someone treated some of the background staff but there was no suggestion that was RTD. He also didn't like John Barrowman, but he wasn't there either. He also didn't go back when Moffat was in charge for the 50th, so I don't know why he is saying he would go back if they were sacked!
