Please recommend us a new series!

Feeling a bit bereft after finishing Yellowstone and worried nothing else will be as good! We don't fancy the spin-offs.
As well as Yellowstone, we have recently really enjoyed:
Breaking Bad
Better Call Saul
Cobra Kai
Happy Valley
The Fall
Blue Lights
Beef
Inventing Anna
The Ex Wife

Didn't like:
Dexter (he was annoying, characters not well developed)
Ozark (too slow)
How To Get Away With Murder (first series was OK but too many pointless characters!)

Payback (ITVX);
Guilt (Season 1 in particular was perfection - similar vibe to Happy Valley);
McMafia (with the amazing James Norton 😍);
Succession;
Squid Games.

The latter two are genius.

On a side note, I absolutely hated Yellowstone. How could you tolerate Beth and all the nonsense of the ranch being run like cosa nostra? But I liked some of the other shows on your list.

I wouldn't bother with Ozark, as although the first two seasons are brilliant it goes downhill from there and the ending is awful.

I second The Newsreader on iPlayer. I just binged it. I worked in TV news around that time and it's got great period details and a compelling plot.
I can't resist Australian dramas!

We DID watch Manifest up until the most recent series but then couldn't be bothered watching it again to remember what the hell was going on for the last series!
