I haven't watched any of the next Gen thing yet- I just can't work out the scoring .

(And in theory- it's meant to be quicker and better for holding the attention of the 'yoof'- it has the opposite effect on me- give me a 5 set thriller any day of the week).

Yep the thread can be hard work at times! I'm enjoying Tony Bellew on there, he's very funny and good natured.

Yes, it's no AD and it's first to 4 games in set -which seems a bit pointless

I’m not watching I’m a celebrity or next gen tennis - I like proper tennis with five sets and advantages and deuces! I did see Nigel Farage’s bum on Gogglebox though - not good!

In tenuous tennis news I found a Wombles calendar as a Christmas present for my Womble loving friend - hope she appreciates it!

Also waiting to see if I’m getting Wimbledon tickets - I think the main allocation has already been done so might get some dregs if people return their tickets or nothing

I read about all the different rules for the next gen. A load of rubbish, which I hope doesn't move across to the main tour, just because organisers think that no one wants to spend more than 50 minutes watching a tennis match
DSsent me a link from Tennis tv twitter of a video with Fils and someone else playing yesterday, I think. Fils was serving at 30 or 40 love and was told by the umpire that they'd just realised they should have changed ends before due to the different rules, so they did it then and Fils continued serving from the other end! Of course, the umpire was.....Mo

kazza I saw something about them changing ends mid game, and everyone getting confused. See- no-one knows what is going on .

Only the likes of Kyrgios, (and Petch, who has the attention span of a gold fish, and has been avocating for short matches for years) want to mess with the format and the atmosphere. Want it to be like Basketball- watch bloody basketball!

Nice to see Fils is doing well though- he's had a great year and will be one to watch next year- especially with the Olympics in Paris. And Dom Stricker is filling the gap for Switzerland (and will hopefully win a cow somewhere).

And the idea of seeing Nigel Farage's bum on IACGMOH make the programme an even scarier prospect than the creepy crawlies .

But I do want a Wombles calendar (I think my sister had one in about 1977- I had a Bay City Rollers one).

My dog has ended up with 2 advent calendars because dh doesn't listen to me and I forgot to sent one to ds even though he is nearly 21.

Would ds appreciate a calendar of dog treats? maybe after a couple of drinks

Yes, Stricker could well fill the gap for Switzerland. Although he's more of a Stan shaped filler, rather than Roger
