I did one for Bobby, one for Annabel and one for Nigel in the end. I thought about SAngela too, but hopefully she'll have plenty.

Tbh, I think it's RAngela to go tonight.

I think Annabelle could be in the dance off. Overly sentimentalised rather than body and soul dancing.

I will never forget his and Flávia’s AT.

Flavia and Vincent are my all time favourites. Both spectacular dancers.

My weird love about Blackpool Week is the lack of stair-bothering. I can't articulate why it pleases me so much.

I don't know what that opening routine was all about. I think Luba was in a throuple with identical twins, one who was a wine sommelier and one who was a Green Goddess drag impersonator. Yep, that's it.

Given the song and given it was Blackpool Week, I was certain that Layton was going to be doing a big, camp showgirl routine with all the sequins and feathers, so was disappointed when the theme was stormtrooper pole-dancers, with a pole so flimsy and wobbly it was rejected by the Crossroads prop-men for a storyline where Miss Diane was put on a three-day week and forced to turn to sex work.

Am amazed Angela Rippon hasn't returned to Blackpool since her Come Dancing days. That woman's got static caravan, fruit machines and chip shop curry sauce written all over her.

Motsi's outfit made me so desperate for a Fry's Turkish Delight (or, let's be honest, a triple-pack) I am tempted to go to the all-night petrol station.

Love a proper quickstep and Nigel's didn't exactly disappoint but I, perhaps unfairly, keep comparing him to Danny Mac and finding him wanting. When someone like Annabel keeps improving, it's frustrating that Nigel started the competition well but keeps slightly fumbling the routines.

Love Ellie but didn't love that routine. Too sugary, too frantic and it is impossible to Charleston well in trainers. I think if you have an outside choreographer for a Charleston you should really cross your fingers to get Bill Deamer or Jenny Thomas and not one of the others.

Sums it up.

Tbh I think it's going to be a shock whoever else is in bottom 2 with AR. There are no obvious contenders, it could be literally anyone.

All three votes for Annabel.
Don't think Vimto needs them.

Oh, and since Angela Rippon is a lost cause with the public and Nigel being unlikely to need the support, since him acting like a dejected kitten that was then hugged and kissed by Vito is going to whip his voting public into a bacchic frenzy, I gave all my votes to Annabel.

WTF is going on with the scoring? Bobby's jive wasn't worth one 9, never mind 3!!

Nigel had the most disappointed face of the night. He looked so grumpy!

Don't think the producers/directors would let him away with that. Semi final probably, final definitely required.

I understand why he didn't give Layton and Nikita 10, though.

Craig did say he thought Layton was the best dancer they've had on Strictly.

I think it will be Bobby or Nigel. I think this is a year where the women are popukar

I really enjoyed this jive and I think he did really well but I'd forgotten him after the others had danced.

I’m feeling very underwhelmed!

Layton and Nikita was a MASSIVE letdown. I was so much looking forward to their dance and I was so, so bored. What a complete waste of an opportunity to be able to do something amazing! I don’t think it deserved any of the 10’s to be honest. Also, when it came to the feedback and either Anton or Craig said “You’re the best dancer I’ve seen on this strictly stage for 20 years” as they threw their arms up in the air (or something similar) I nearly choked on my drink! Of course he bloody is, he’s a professional dancer!! It made the whole thing seem so ludicrous.

And as for Ellie and Vito - I was so bored by their dance too. I loved that song and I love the Charleston and so I was expecting something phenomenal but it was so drab. It didn’t have the Charleston-vibe I was hoping for. Maybe the extra dancers are the problem? I find them quite distracting.

And lovely Nigel - my heart broke for him because he looked so disappointed in himself. I could barely look at the screen. I thought he danced so well and he looked so happy but then he was completely crushed with the comments and the scores.

Angela S was great!!! She’s great with her legs. I was really, really impressed with what she Carlos did.

And the beautiful Annabelle, she looked amazing and the dance was so emotional. I really, really enjoyed it. I just love seeing her and Jo-Jo and I agree with Anton in that something about their partnership evokes strong emotions.

Angela R did better than I expected her too.

I enjoyed Bobby’s dance too but I think he was overmarked!

So to summarise…..I was very disappointed with some couples and blown away by others.

My order of liking the dances in terms of if I got the chance to watch them again:

1. Angela S and Carlos
2. Annabelle and JoJo
3. Nigel and Katya
4. Bobby and Dianne
5. Ellie and Vito
6. Angela R and Kai
7. Layton and Nikita

I think the dance off will be Bobby against Angela R with Bobby to obviously stay.

Evening. Late to the party. Shitty day, shitty week sadly.
Not keen on group number, singing and franticness too much.
Would have preferred Bobby and Diane to have been in white tees - copyright? - they could have had CHOOSE BPOOL on, surely?
Ange did okay given limited rehearsal time (has been filming all week) but the U turn from judges blowing smoke up her bum to suddenly deciding now to point out errors is enough to give you whiplash.
I felt the same way about Layton's CC as I did about AJ's. You don't dedicate to your Mum/do Nanwarz if you're about to slut drop/ooze sex/pole dance.
Annabel's was floaty and wafty. Ellie's was clumsy in places and I didn't see much swivel myself, maybe it was the trainers. I'd have claimed Vito as soon as I'd won him, mind. They are playing the cutesy showmance and linguistic laughs well, I'll say that much.
Still cannot warm to Ange S but her leap into Carlos was awesome.
Nige looked disappointed again. Have to say, the errors weren't glaring. I'd need to watch it again properly.
Hard to call it tonight with a tie at the top, potential sympathy for Nige and a ? over whose fandom is higher. Might actually come down to pro popularity - Jojo vs Nikita vs Diane/Sugg.
I wouldn't be surprised if it was Bobby vs Ange tbf.
