ITV did a series exactly the same as this many years ago called ‘Mums on Strike’. It aired mid afternoon ish, I was able to watch as on maternity leave at the time.

I realise half of this is staged but Wassim has within hours of being told his missus is staying away, thinks she's got another bloke.

I'm hoping that the vetting and stuff the production team do is robust as there's some blokes who'll go into complete meltdown

Is it massively staged , family obv know they are being filmed for tv so how can husbands be surprised when wife's leaves home ?

Also they must follow mumsnet , first victim is a mamil 😬

My Husband and kids knew there would be a twist. They thought initially I would be told to stop doing everything and we’d be filmed with me laying in bed giving out orders, they then thought I would be swopping with another Mum.
The day I left home, we (me and camera crew) had it all planned around my family’s schedule, so I was able to pack and leave whilst they were all out. I forgot about Life360 so kids knew exactly where I was, though no idea why.

For us, before being accepted for the show we all had to have a psych assessment. After I left the home, there was another psych assessment. We were all told we could stop at anytime throughout. For me and my family, we felt we were looked after by all the team. It was a great experience, particularly for the younger two as they had a great time with the camera crew.

Am finding this really sad as just turned over.l to catch this show. This is exactly what my life was like and now I’m splitting from H. It’s heartbreaking for women and breaks up families. I am not that comfortable with it being turned into entertainment tbh. It’s not just fodder for a channel five show. The misogyny is real. And accepted. Those men don’t come across as being bad, they come across as lovable and a bit useless, when really they are treating women like shit. It’s deep seated sexism.

So glad I saw this thread. Was wondering how it was that the families were so surprised by the strike, when they'd had a camera crew in the house!

It's awful how little some people do in their own homes, to maintain family life. I don't know how they can fit on their arses watching telly or having a nap, while their spouse cooks four different dinners and is constantly cleaning.

MAMIL really pissed me off, sitting in the pub chilling. If he was mine he'd have been under the patio!

When’s the next episode I watched the first two and it says next time but then it’s not been on this week and can’t find it on the guide for next either?

I've been wondering this myself so I googled it and it appears to have been cancelled. I'm fuming about it as its the best reality show I've ever seen, really relatable to me and so many people I know. I was looking forward to the 3rd episode- sad I know but cheered me up whilst doing the dreaded laundry folding! No idea why they would give up after just 2 episodes as the viewers would increase as more word and recommendations got out about the show. Wish I knew how to voice my disappointment to Ch5!
