Wanted: 30 minute comedy

MadeOfAllWork · 28/10/2023 17:31

DH and I like to watch something while we eat dinner (don’t judge me, my mother does that!) We like a 30 minute comedy.
We have watched:
Community
Schitts Creek
Ghosts
Superstore
Kim’s Convenience

and lots of other ones I’ve forgotten.

What else can anyone recommend. At the moment we have Netflix as a paid service and iplayer.

Early series of Fools and Horses are the right length.

Also The Thick of It. Brilliant

MaMisled · 28/10/2023 19:05

Young Offenders. Laugh out loud funny.

Fourlegsandatail · 28/10/2023 19:09

Amazon Prime - Jury Service

Netflix - Arrested Development

BBC - Murder In Successville

Mum. Absolutely sublime. I think it's on iPlayer.

LightSpeeds · 28/10/2023 19:14

Father Ted

Whilst it's not comedy - have you tried "Tokyo Stories - Midnight Diner" on Netflix - or Samurai Gourmet (the Samurai is played by a top Japanese comedian). Very charming/interesting and short episodes

Britneyfan · 28/10/2023 19:16

Shrinking, Bad sisters - Apple TV

Here We Go on iPlayer

@MadeOfAllWork its a comedy horror with Courtney Cox from Friends. I've just finished the first season. Gonna start the second season now. Well worth a watch

Umanresources · 28/10/2023 20:37

Our dinner programme is Richard Osman’s House of Games. We might go back and watch Kim’s Convenience again. If you can get it ‘The Middle’, I’ve introduced it to several people who’ve loved it. We’ve watched each series at least 4 times.

InOtherWords · 28/10/2023 20:41

I know someone else mentioned it, but we have similar tastes OP, and Will and Grace is great.

What We Do in the Shadows
Back to Life
People Just Do Nothing

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/10/2023 20:56

Colin from Accounts but the episode where her friends are in his restaurant is dire

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/10/2023 20:57

Some of the Inside no 9 are funny

some sad, some creepy
All are stand alone

if you want funny try Hotel Zanzibar

Riverlee · 28/10/2023 22:00

Twenty Twelve
W1a

Not sure of these are available. The first is a parady of planning the London Olympic Games, and the second, with the same cast, is a BBC committee. Both are really good.

I loved The Middle but I don’t know where I can watch it now.

I just did a check. We have Sky and it’s on catch-up on Comedy Central but only on the Sky App. You can download it to the TV from series 1. My daughter went to see Eden Sher (Sue Heck) at the Edinburgh Fringe. Her show was called I was on a sitcom. She said it was really good, even though it was only a bit about The Middle.

ScribblingPixie · 28/10/2023 23:26

I am always looking for 30-minute comedies! Very much liked
State of the Union
Master of None
Somebody Somewhere

It’s being repeated from the beginning on Comedy Central from Monday.
