Have you checked with them? We didn't subscribe to Nick etc, but they are still showing on the tv guide.

WigWamBam · 17/12/2004 17:48

They are showing a notice which says "Telewest no longer broadcasts this channel".

My dd is not going to be happy that she can't watch Angelina anymore.

ChrisseyMas · 17/12/2004 17:49

yes both parties are blaming each other telewest is a west mids based company

I rang today about something else and they have a recorded message saying that negotiations have broken down over the price and they will no longer be showing any Nickleodeon channel. I told dd and she burst into tears

blossomgoodwill · 17/12/2004 18:03

hi here is the reply we got back

Hello Gail, thankyou for your email.

I'm afraid that the decision to remove our channels was made by Telewest, not by us. If it were down to us, our viewers would still be enjoying our channels - we would never make a decision like this, especially not at this special time of year.

I understand that Telewest have been suggesting that we were demanding more money for our channels, which would have raised cable bills. This is absolutely not true.

We hope that Telewest will listen to us, and their customers, and bring our channels back to your screens as soon as possible. You can help us by calling Telewest and letting them know that you enjoyed our channels (if you did) and would like to see them back again.

We are absolutely doing our best, but fundamentally it is Telewest who control what channels you do and do not receive, and we cannot reach your TV without their help.

In the meantime, we can only suggest alternative digital TV providers such as Sky Digital, Homechoice, or every other UK cable operator except Telewest, who all continue to carry all of our channels.

I'm sorry I don't have better news - but this is the situation. We're doing our best to get back, guaranteed.

Please do feel free to email again if there's anything else we can do.

All the best,

Ant

I've just gone to their customer feedback bit here and sent this:

I can't find anywhere else to say this, but I am appalled at the decision to drop Nickleodeon. I, like many other people I know (just do a web search on message boards!) am actively seeking to drop my account with Telewest and move to Sky. The insult of "Have a happy Christmas" at the end of the message is just too much to take when you've just had to explain to your young children and have them burst into tears because they will never see their favourite shows again. Shame on you!"

I was hamming it up a bit I admit

ChrisseyMas · 17/12/2004 21:12

yes lol sent that relpy off got the other site gonna go to sky in the new year cancel telewest

I too am switching - its just not good enough to be treated like this.

TwoIfBySanta · 17/12/2004 22:12

This isn't the first time Telewest has done this. Years ago, before we moved to this house, we had Telewest and every so often all of a sudden a channel would disappear. The price never went down accordingly though, surprise surprise!

We have had Sky since the beginning of the year, dst love Nick jnr. almost better than Cbeebies. Our neighbour's dd (in her 20s by the by) works for Sky and their customer service seems to take in account that some months a customer might only be able to afford the basic. We have the one with the movies but without the sport. If you get the movie channels try and watch "The Little Polar Bear" that has been on a few times. Dst love this to bits!

TwoIfBySanta · 17/12/2004 22:13

Um, that last bit was for people reading both threads running on this topic and was nothing to do with the poster putting it on the wrong one.

Poo, I'm 33 tomorrow, lets blame it on the old age!

janeyjinglebops · 17/12/2004 22:22

I tried phoning the number on the screen this morning and their was no answer from Nick channels people. Might try to contact telewest now. Am very cross

ChristmasCracker · 17/12/2004 22:38

We had telewest a few years ago and after about a week of signing up for 15 channels, one dissapeared. Dp rang up and the girl basically said 'well if you don't like it take it out'. So we did, rang them and told them their box was on the doorstep ready for them to colect when they could be bothered.

ChristmasCracker · 17/12/2004 22:38

We have Sky now by the way and they are fantastic.

Linnet · 17/12/2004 22:42

I can't get through to Telewest at the moment, they've probably all gone home or are just ignoring the phones. Will be phoning Sky tomorrow to see about getting them installed.
