I really like fish, but cooking it scares me (except salmon)
Poor Brazilian lady that looked awful, but she wouldn't have gone through, I suspect.
Apart from slightly raw lamb, I would have hoovered all of that up.

Just caught up - frustrated not to be able to watch/post in real time, but there was something More Important on telly last night. AKA Arsenal.

I think the issue with self-taught cooks is that they stick with what they know, so never go beyond or get trained to cook anything else - hence not being able to prep/cook certain foods. If you've never prepped or cooked something like monkfish before, you won't necessarily know that you have to remove that awful membrane underneath the skin.

I did think it was a bit unfair that the guy who worked in a seafood restaurant got the fish for his skills test - surely the producers would have realised that gave him an unfair advantage?

I did feel for Cristina but it is a very well known safety hazard blending hot liquids like that, my nutribullet has massive warnings all over it. As a professional she should have been aware of the risk. That must have been really embarrassing for her, given her job, I wonder if they insisted on keeping it in as a contractual obligation. Would have been kinder to edit her out of the show altogether

I made two different kinds of muffins for tea tonight. DH is away and the girls and I always do something a bit different when he's not here. And I spent the day painting so it had to be easy.

I'd have preferred casserole and baked potato, tbh.
