During lockdown we watched a few Welsh drama series in Welsh with subtitles (v good) and Gareth Pierce was in one, speaking Welsh. DH and I both called out: "It's Todd Grimshaw"! He's such a good actor, wasted in Corrie imo. He was born in North Wales and bilingual.

Given that Stephen is (a) dead, and (b) a serial killer, why is there no investigation into his criminal legacy of wide-spread, obvious fraud and theft? There's the factory, his mother, his business contacts, his ex-wife to talk to ... it would be quite an extensive investigation in RL, wouldn't it?

Maybe Craig is busy doing that. There is also Eds credit card. Craig is now in the fraud squad.

I still don't understand how Stephen is supposed to have spent a quarter of a million quid in the scant hour between nicking it and getting splatted by Peter - surely they can trace it and get it back, he hardly had time to go on a spending spree with it, he just moved it to his account!

Did you watch Caerdydd by any chance? I loved him in that :) I was very pleased when they announced he was joining Corrie and I think he's done a great job as Todd

I wasn't happy about Todds new head but he is very good.
The writers aren't great...I think we have excellent ideas here. And a cull of characters.

I still forget Todd has a new head. I associate Bruno Langley with the character. I keep thinking the new Todd is a completely new addition to the Street. I think he plays a good part but I still get confused.

I think it was Hinterland I saw him in. I'll have to check out Caerdydd.

My God, Amy's entitled attitude is something else. Grow up!

The Amy storyline is ridiculous. It goes from one stupid storyline to another. I'll be giving up soon if it doesn't get better

I’m another one who’s wondering why no one has thought to contact Gabrielle. Elaine, Jenny, Sarah, Gail and Audrey all know she was heavily involved in Stephen’s business, and that he blamed her for his financial troubles. Even if that part was a lie, surely someone would think to check it out.

The salon and barbers storyline is another example of poor forward planning. They brought it in to do the “Nick and David steal from Audrey” plot, but never thought how they’d find storylines for both businesses afterwards (or even who would run them from a practical point of view). The new(ish) extension to the set must have cost a fortune, but we only ever see Speed Dahl and the police station - and now they’ve added the precinct, when there was already unused space!

Aadi is being thrust into one bad storyline after another. Not fair on the lovely young man 😨👦. and his sister seems headed for cheating on Nina with Isla. No matter who was gay or not in previous scripts, the writers just turn them any way they want to at the drop of a hat.

Thinking of who my top 3 characters/açtors are, it has to be Todd, David and Bernie. Most of the rest are fit for the bin. (Jenny is ok too so she can stay ☺)

Yes, I agree with this! I'm struggling to think who else I would save. Oh, Glenda! I like Glenda. I know she's not everyone's cup of tea but I think she's got potential.

Ah can we keep George too, he is lovely.

What about DeeDee? One of the few genuinely nice characters in soap.

If I could remove around half a dozen characters to enhance my viewing pleasure they would be:

Ed or Ed's son who can't act - preferably both
Dee Dee's boyfriend - Dee Dee can stay
Courtney - just shaddap-a you face
Amy - this isn't The Howling, luv
Mason - of feck off you thinly plotted badly acted vapid cliché
Dylan - and you can go with him

They can bring back Lurch though - I grew quite fond of him toward the end of his tenure.
