I quite like the idea of Amy doing a Death Wish type revenge on the male species. No doubt the writers will fuck it up though.

Tbh it's all so mad now, @thenightsky, they may as well have Amy and DS Swain team up to stalk the streets at night looking for wrong 'uns to bring to justice.

Barlow and Swain: the Justice Diaries.

'Killing's too good for them, Amy. The worst revenge we can inflict on these creeps is to make them spend 3 days watching back-to-back episodes of Loose Women. They'll be begging for mercy by Day 2, you mark my words.'

greengreengrass25 · 17/11/2023 21:43

The stupid Wendy house story as well when their house is tiny and no garden

Why can't he buy a 2nd hand one anyway

AutumnCrow · 17/11/2023 21:47

I have few words left for the Ed story, it's so awful.

As if he'd call the local cab office where he knows everyone to take him down the cazzy.

Clawdy · 17/11/2023 22:12

Amy and Aadi's acting was excellent tonight. Well-written scenes for once, too.

Second hand? Why can't he MAKE one, he's a bloody builder, a Wendy house should not be beyond his capabilities!

Hellendegenerate · 18/11/2023 07:23

Barlow and Swain 😀 has a certain ring to it. The next Cagney and Lacey.

But where is our favourite plod? Arcraigy? Perhaps he's on a short course and will be back soon as Chief Boss Commander Superintendent. He'll be being measured for his new uniform as we speak.

The matching onesie part with Tracey and Steve was meant to be amusing. Oh dear.

"Wouldn't it make more sense to change Trim Up North to a unisex salon, and hand Audrey's back to Debbie, instead of shelling out rent for the sake of maybe one cut and colour and 2 blowdrys a week?"

Audrey owns Trim Up North and is selling it so that she can buy back her house (which Steven did an equity release on). She said she wanted the security of knowing she owned her house again.

I initially found the Billy and Paul romantic/sex scenes a bit vommy - just because it's Billy. But Billy is being less annoying than usual and to my think the storyline is (mostly) being well done. I think Billy and Todd will get back together. It always seemed as if Paul was a stopgap while Todd paid his penance, and Todd has really developed in the interim. Although it goes without saying Todd is far too good for Billy.

I agree they will get back together.
Billy will wring his 🙏 and place them on his lips after Paul's funeral and Todd will " comfort" him.
Cue more wringing of prayerhands in guilt 😴

Hellendegenerate · 18/11/2023 10:28

I enjoy any scene with Todd. He has the knack of looking slightly sarcastic and not taking anything too seriously with those eyes. He doesn't over act, doesn't need to unlike Steve and Brian and dismal Nina, to name a few. Go Todd 😄🏃

Shellingbynight · 18/11/2023 10:43

Yes to the wringing of guilty prayerhands!

Todd is absolutely brilliant isn't he? He lights up every scene he's in. I used to really like Bruno Langley, but New Todd is far better.

I was pleased to see a scene in T'Cabin which has barely featured at all since Covid (as far as I remember?). Unfortunately it was spoiled by the appearance of Brian. The toffee shop was one of the main sets in the current classic Corrie (around 2002) and looked bigger. Steve was much less over-acty in those days too.

AutumnCrow · 18/11/2023 10:52

I often wonder if some of Steve's overacting and laboured delivery is to compensate for him struggling to remember his lines!

I prefer pissed-off, shouty dad Sean to the usual prissy version. If we must endure him, I hope he is kept in a state of permanent anger and desire for revenge. He can be the irascible sidekick of Barlow & Swain.

Yes it's terrible

Wish someone would decorate Barlow's living room. It is dreadful

VictorianBigot · 18/11/2023 11:12

Todd is lovely. He should forget Billy 🙏 and spend a night with me.

What happened to Steve? Why does he talk with a baby voice these days?

Hellendegenerate · 18/11/2023 11:18

Steve has had that oh so silly voice for a long time. He used to be a decent character but the writers have turned him into a buffoon. Once in a while he speaks a sensible line but otherwise he's awful. Hen pecked to bits too.

Thequeenofwishfulthinking · 18/11/2023 11:59

I thought the same as a pp - why can’t Ed built a bloody Wendy house for Glory. He even referred to his yard being full of wooden pallets.
He is so ridiculous - ‘I’ve got a good idea, I will use a fraudulent credit card to go the the casino to hopefully win enough money to buy a brand new expensive Wendy house for my granddaughter….’
Use your skills and your spare pallets Ed fgs!

greengreengrass25 · 18/11/2023 12:17

Plus where will this Wendy house go, his house doesn't have a garden

The whole story is pathetic when Glory only seems to appear once in a blue moon and there are no toys or props that suggest a small dc is in existence

WiddlinDiddlin · 17/11/2023 02:24

Actually though it is a bit cringe, I am (and I know other people with disabilities are too) pleased that they are covering the fact that disabled people want sex too. All too often we're portrayed as sexless beings or that its a bit grim or sad, rather than as partners in a loving relationship. Or of course, its two disabled people, not a disabled person and an able bodied person.

So bring on the cringe I say, it's not going to be for long really is it?

Well I AM a disabled person and shock horror, have the same thoughts as most people, that it's grim!

Deadringer · 18/11/2023 14:04

Todd is way too good for Billy, I really hope they don't get back together but sadly I think its inevitable. I don't really understand the equity release thing with Audrey's house. Stephen did it without her illegally and without her knowledge iirc, so would she be liable for it?

Itham · 18/11/2023 15:40

@Deadringer I wondered this too, googling didn't really provide an answer.

eggandonion · 18/11/2023 16:37

I think we are due for a bit of evil Todd...I love evil Todd.
I don't think Audrey knows what's going on between the equity release and the two hair places. The writers need to sort it out.

AutumnCrow · 18/11/2023 16:41

It's another weird plotline. I don't think you can just 'buy back' a house from an equity release scheme - the company then own the property, don't they? And let the previous owner live in it till they die/move into a care home? The company holds all the cards. It's not like settling a debt on your Debenhams account.

And you certainly wouldn't be 'buying back' 27 Grasmere Drive with the proceeds from a backstreet barbers.

Yes I thought that

Did he forge her signatures

greengreengrass25 · 18/11/2023 16:56

Is there not still some of Stephen's illicit gains around somewhere
