I think it's important to state where you are at openly for either sex- even if it means saying "Sorry, but I just don't fancy you at the moment. Can we just try and be friends?" Rather than say "baby steps/ slowly/ bit by bit" as it gives false hope to the other person.

dillite the problem with not saying baby steps is that attraction can grow. So if a person has to admit on day 5 of knowing someone they don't find them attractive, it is hard to come back from! IMHO.
