I am open to be being wrong and that things could come out that show he’s behaved similarly in the past, that Shona hasn’t for the most part agreed to a storyline and has been abused by this - but tbh I hope I’m right, and that I’m not watching an abuse situation for “entertainment”

And yet they run that Brand exposé, which happened on THEIR OWN FRICKING CHANNEL and can put out a statement like "we take safeguarding seriously and blah blah ... (Wouldn't happen now)" then show stuff like this. They love all this stuff.

But you can give me loads of dosh, a beach house and a potion for the body I had at 20 and matching face, and I still wouldn’t want to be acting like that on a show. Even if it was all just pretend.

They have no end of sexy sex sex/shock factor reality programmes on various channels.

It just would have been nice to have something more real. A bit wholesome.

@craggyrat it used to be like a fly on the wall documentary/ experiment type vibes and was genuinely interesting and heartwarming but it really has jumped the shark.
The experts (don't understand the ixperts thing 🥴) are just puppets and don't have a shred of credibility left turning a blind eye to the shit going on.

It's just another trashy scripted reality show now isn't it.
I know there's a place for that but it's just too much for me this year I think I'll just stick with reading this thread for entertainment and ditch the show.
I wonder what viewing figures are like because it's not even like a chance of fame can come of it really- maybe a bit of SM attention for a bit (does that constitute fame these days) so it's hardly a career platform.
I don't think you can trust anyone on it, like even Paul and Thomas must have watched previous series and know the game.

Spot on with the Russell Brand similarities, I also think men doing all that crystal woo crap are masking being thick as pig shit but yes totally trying to reel in people by appearing like an anti lad , fuck boy 101.

I saw Mel Shilling being interviewed on Australian TV yesterday and she said that they had to ask one couple to leave the UK version as it was too toxic to stay.
Who do we think? (Sorry if I have missed this and it has already been discussed)

I personally think that the ixperts are no more qualified than someone who gets a certificate off the internet or finds one in a lucky bag along with fondant teeth, a sherbet dip dab and a pack of minuscule fake fags.

Feeling really uncomfortable watching this season though.

Channel 4 have a get out clause that they fall back on (like they did with the accusations about Brand on Big Brothers big mouth) that they didn't actually make the programme as most of their stuff is made by independent production companies. They just show it.

It's also why most of their early TV output is AWOL/ lost in copyright purgatory

Ella talking to camera always talks about her looks. About how men are attracted to her looks. It seems a really big deal to her. She has had all this surgery to create a look that she thinks makes her attractive to men. Nat is saying he wants to know the real Ella. What's inside, what's behind the facade and that's really throwing her. It's like, 'What, this wasn't enough?'

But that's the same for all of us. Looks are not enough to attract. Ros does not fancy Thomas even though he has classical good looks. Brad is getting uglier by the day. Peggy is unattractively dull as dishwater. I really wish Ella could learn from this that you don't need to perform a 'look' or put on a persona to be attractive. Just be yourself and you will naturally attract the person that's right for you.
