Gilmore Girls: TV Characters you used to love but now dislike

During my late teens and early twenties, I was Gilmore Girls obsessed. I adored Lorelai and Rory Gilmore. However, I'm now in my mid thirties and was feeling nostalgic so I decided to rewatch the show. I'm now finding I actually really dislike these characters...they just seem very clueless, over privileged, selfish and spoiled. Has anyone else experienced this about a show they love? Any other Gilmore Girls fans who, with time, changed their minds about Lorelai and Rory?

God yes. A whole heap of nonsense about Lorelai doing it on her own, but then allowing her daughter to be sent to a paid school. Rory in the reboot was beyond awful.

Yes! Loved it the first time round, started rewatching while on mat leave and bf and they don't come off well at all.

Lorelei is extremely rude and childish - Rory is entitled and my favourite character ended up being Emily!

Rory is supposed to be intelligent but doesn't understand that she needs extracurricular activities and job experience to get into a prestigious university? 🙄

Don't get me started on the Dean storyline. They should have shagged in the barn on prom night, that would have been better and more believable than the homewrecker storyline.

I almost regret watching it again because it's kind of ruined the memory for me.
