I agree about Charlotte, she hasn’t had any meaty storylines, she just flutters about organising her family and the PTA.

In SATC they used her career to bring other characters into the plots, I remember Samantha becoming a lesbian because she met an artist through Charlotte and then there was the episode where the artist photographed Charlotte as a man. They need to give her an interesting life to bring her character to life.

The writers would start a storyline, then leave it hanging or bring in yet another random storyline. I’d like to have seen -

Harry’s health problems turning into something serious.

More from Lisette, she’s such a lovely character & could have brought Carrie back to the current NYC scene (the way Enid brought her to the older NYC set). The link to Carrie’s “younger self” was so weak.

Nya’s divorce. That could have been fireworks. Instead she just made a soufflé. The Andre actor must not have been available?

yes re phone! Surely the first thing she would have done is ask someone to call her phone to try anc find it in the rubbish. And the second would be to use surfer dude’s phone to get an Uber or call a cab firm.

The scene at the beach was just boggling. She was surrounded by people at the beach too - how did they all get away? She wasn’t seen to be the very last leaving. It felt like the writers had real contempt for the character yet Cynthia Nixon had a loud voice in it all. So weird.

The ‘Do-it-all’ wallpaper in Carrie’s original apartment is actually from SJP’s own collection. It is apparently $250 a panel, not even a roll 😳

@43ontherocksporfavor there has been a lot of backlash in the US over it. She gets $1m an ep, the wallpaper and shoe placements are just not necessary. She could’ve sprinkled stardust on up and coming designers who need the boost. PF was very good at that.

I never understood the wallpaper choice in the original apartment - it was like that noughties over the top B&Q feature wallpaper. Just looked cheap. Never liked the apartment decor with Big either - too dark. Love the new place!

Oh no the Carrie and Big apartment was divine decor wise. I do like dark look though and have dark walls in a lot of rooms.

As much as I love SJP she is no different from that Real Housewife Lisa Rina who was always flogging something. I don’t know how much money she needs tbh, it’s wine now. I do t expect to see her on QVC anytime soon though 😀

I agree with what you say about Pat Field - she literally put the Jimmy Choo and Manolo Blahnik brands on the map because of taking a chance on relatively small, or up and coming brands. This show has a huge opportunity to do the same for other designers.

If they are keen to show the diversity within the show, that should be incorporated into the fashion - showcasing small Black/Asian/other culture brands and designers. Give them a leg up - especially through characters like Nya and LTW, their wardrobes could be phenomenal

Aspects of the old apartment were a bit student-y, like the bookshelves near her bed. But maybe that was deliberate?

And I don’t feel that Carrie is a monogrammed napkin person. That is definitely more Charlotte territory, I think!

I love Anthony, Harry and my favourite is Steve. Also the chef who got the sack from CSI is lovely looking.
Ive been watching Sex in the City again!! and noticed the girls always had a new fella and so much snogging made me gag. Most of the men were not very good looking either and the clothes the girls wore in the first 3 series were not that glam.
I dont think Samantha will come back either she couldnt really play the same person unless they make her a more mature version of her self but then she wouldnt be the Samantha we all know and love.

Also ive noticed that in this day of wokedom the only people you can really take the piss out off is ginger people. Im ginger and I totally object to posters on here saying that Brady looks like Ronald MacDonald surely that went out in the 80's. That is really rude and you should be ashamed of yourselves.

I’m ginger and I take zero offence. It’s not a ginger slur, the actor is clearly going for a certain aesthetic with his curls which translates to “clown” when you’ve got bright red hair. He knows what he’s doing. I’m baffled how the comments could be offensive.

I’m also Ginger. I mentioned Brady looking like a young Ronald MacDonald because he does for the reasons @ReeseWitherfork pointed out. It isn’t’ Gingerist’, it’s making a comparison. If someone had said ‘all gingers are ugly’ or called him carrot top/Duracell/that would be offensive, but I don’t think anyone has?

I’m also from Essex and we have to put up with either being thought of on MN as thick or constant jibes like ‘all kids in Essex are called Chardonnay or the like’ or ‘she looks like she’s from Essex’ when very clearly we all are not all oompah loompah orange and don’t all name our kids after a type of wine. I guess we have to choose what we get offended by?

I was thinking about satc’s influence on clothes. I remember wearing a black dress with leopard print heels around that time having watched SJP’s style which is nothing now but back then it was very much black shoes with black dress etc. she made clothes more playful on a bigger scale.

What's everyone's hopes/predictions for S3?

I hope that now we've seen Charlotte's kids rebel against their privileged upbringing and now Charlotte rebelling against her (over) parenting of them that we'll see some interesting character development there. And a bit more of Harry and Anthony along the way.

Hope Carrie starts dating again and doesn't wait for Aiden.

Don't really care what happens for Miranda next as long as there are no more cringy sex scenes.

I want to see more of Nya but only because I want to see more of her hot new boyfriend.

I hope all the women re-discover their brains and stop changing their entire lives for men. Not even hot men!😂
