Chat away to your heart’s content about invisible quads, terrible children’s clothing designs that are apparently groundbreaking, Stephen’s bizarre whispering and much more!

What happened to the footballer son? Did he die?

He moved down to that London to work as a football coach. Never to be mentioned again.

Heliotroper · 01/09/2023 12:07

Dee Dee is a more than adequate replacement for the boring footballer.

Deadringer · 01/09/2023 14:25

👋 👀 🖐 don't forget the jazz hands TellingBone

AutumnCrow · 01/09/2023 19:09

Michael Jazzhands and BillyPrayerhands can never be placed in the same scene together with Gemma CavernGob or Mary would rise up from the crack into Hell on the corner of Rosamund Street and reveal her true demonic self.

Shurleyknot · 01/09/2023 20:08

Mister Willy Wetspoon 😂

Findyourneutralspace · 01/09/2023 20:10

Biggest scandal on the street these days is the Barlow brew making method. It’s an outrage!

Findyourneutralspace · 01/09/2023 20:49

And just like magic…. James Bailey appears!!

FlibbertyGibbitt · 01/09/2023 21:15

All I’m going to say is that wasn’t that tea towel immaculate ?

Heliotroper · 01/09/2023 22:03

Simon becoming even more pointless

Helendegenerate · 01/09/2023 23:26

I feel a bit sorry for Simon the actor. He's not much cop at the acting lark but must be so grateful when he's thrown a couple of lines every other week.

Clawdy · 02/09/2023 08:14

Simon was such a good actor as a child. I still remember him telling Peter "I miss Mummy...." his little face and voice was heartbreaking !

aflix · 02/09/2023 08:31

The devious, drug addict storyline just drags on and on, with Tyrone pulling silly faces in the background. I'm quite looking forward to another murder to lighten the mood.

Wait. What?? The footballer has turned up and I only mentioned him the other day??

I didn't bother watching last night's.

It’s funny how sometimes good child actors don’t grow up into good adult actors. (Yes Chesney, I’m looking at you.)

It was just a photo @thenightsky

While I'm on, I liked the little throwaway line from Bernie last night:

'...I'm babysitting Abba'.

Ellenanora7 · 03/09/2023 02:15

Gemma seemed to spend the whole day sitting in the rovers waiting to hear about the fate of the pub, Bernie said to Dev she had to mind the quads, so who the hell was looking after them in that time, it can't have been Chesney because surely he was working considering they've no money at all, it's bloody ridiculous.

And for the love of god can anyone explain why Sean needs two jobs, his worried expression over the rovers job is nonsense, he works full time in the factory, is a lodger in the ever expanding house that is Eileen's and even though his son had apparently moved with him he hasn't been seen in months, what does he spend his money on!!!

bizzey · 03/09/2023 02:31

Sean's ...head..twist body...twist head flounce is really annoying me now .

It is like every time he has a scene...he has to do the dramatic drama queen flounce!

It is not even natural...it is am-dram pantomime queen.

( sorry am-dram pantomime queens ...I am sure you are fab ...but just all the time ??,🤔. I am sure that you agree with me ...the stage direction is being a bit overused...and therefore...not very effective ?)

hope I cover all bases there and kept everyone happy !

Helendegenerate · 03/09/2023 10:04

Sean's headtwistflounce annoys me too. I doubt anyone in real life actually does this.

I didn’t bother watching on Friday. I am so bored with drug related storylines. No wonder Coronation Street hasn’t been nominated for best soap in the recent awards, I forget which awards but I did remark to my sister that I wasn’t surprised it wasn’t nominated.

thenightsky · 03/09/2023 10:37

I didn't watch Friday either.

DahliaMacNamara · 03/09/2023 12:37

Can't stand drugs or gambling storylines, so the next couple of weeks are going to be a hoot, if Ed's speculative gleam at the horse-racing page is anything to go by. No wonder Aggie isn't on the scene to pre-emptively kick his arse in.

AutumnCrow · 03/09/2023 12:42

I agree soap stories focused on drugs, guns or gambling stories get very dull and hackneyed very quickly. I'd rather see a well-written kitchen-sink storyline about missing wine gums or have the canteen of cutlery back for a cameo role.

JellyBeanFactory · 04/09/2023 09:58

Is Sean's son still supposed to be living in Eileen's tardis house?

Bernie is becoming my favourite, both as a character and an actress.

I agree. I was wondering if back in the day they had to have some kind of drama in every episode or was it just people going about their business with an occasional argument or dirty look thrown in?

I suppose many viewers' attention spans are much shorter nowadays with there being so much more to entertain us on offer but too much supposed drama is as much of a turn off as not enough.
