Vanishing Act - The Melissa Caddick story on ITVX Anyone watching?

I think I once fell down a MN rabbit hole of conspiracy theories about Melissa Caddick so I was already invested in the story. It really was very good though, would recommend as a great weekend watch. 3 parter. I’d be interested to hear what everyone else thought.

I watched it all yesterday! She really was a self-centered individual, wasn't she? (I shan't elaborate, as that would be a spoiler).
Interestingly, I asked a friend in Australia if he'd seen it, and apparently it's not available there.

@Optimist1 how strange! It was clearly an Aussie production. I really enjoyed it all. Great acting, easy to watch, great story telling.

She was a thoroughly unpleasant narcissistic individual judging on this programme.

Just finished it - I felt really sad for the friend who had recommended her friends and relatives. A relative of mine was conned out of his life savings by his own sibling supposedly investing it and I said to DH, that’s how they must have felt when it all started to unravel.

Anyone else get gay vibes from the young husband? He was definitely a trophy for her as I couldn’t see any connection between them at all.

The real life story I reckon will end up with parallels of the canoe guy here. If I were the Australian authorities, I’d be straight over to Panama….

Apparently there is a documentary too - I watched the 3 parter and now need to find that one!

It's good but I actually think the real life story is actually better.
That George didn't exist or the pool guy and she never had fake passports as far as anyone knows so the most likely thing is that she just jumped off the cliff when she knew it was all over and she'd have to face everyone.

The podcast is really good. It does a lot of investigation into how her foot could have got there and about a beach where a lot of feet in shoes have washed up!

We've just finished the series,omg it was a bit grim in places 🤢

I just watched the documentary and not sure I agree with the police conclusion about what happened, I have huge suspicions about the H. His behaviour was most odd

Really odd. I went back and listened to the podcast after watching the documentary and the series and the podcast is even better than both!

I think he helped her escape (the husband) but not sure what happened after that. Also with all the cctv in the other houses, surely they could have found evidence of her leaving?

The other thing I find odd is that if she’d jumped off that cliff, surely someone would have seen/heard her screaming as she fell?
