For me it would be the one where Big and Carrie start their affair. It’s captivating and heartbreaking in equal measure.

OP posts:

Just watched The Real Me (fashion show episode). Made me realise how much I miss Stanford 😭.

ricekrispi · 29/08/2023 15:53

The one where Aidan and Carrie split up for the second time. The final scene of them cuddled together on the mattress on the floor and the final line always gets me: The next day Aidan moved out.

ricekrispi · 29/08/2023 15:54

And I've been hate watching Just Like That. Whilst I like the new friends and feel they could be better developed, it is so painting by numbers for me and two dimensional that it is a shadow of what the original series was.

Lottapianos · 29/08/2023 16:21

'the final line always gets me: The next day Aidan moved out.'.

I remember gasping out loud at that the first time I saw it. It's still a gut punch every time

Which is the “I (heart) NY” episode?

I have seen a few people mention it so it must be special?

There are just too many episodes to pick a favourite from and all this thread has done is make me want to watch the whole series from scratch again 😂

Jojoanna · 29/08/2023 17:17

Oh too many episodes to pick a favourite. I heart NY is the where Big is leaving for California.

LarryandLeon · 29/08/2023 17:49

Yes I recently watched I ❤️ New York on the recommendation of this thread. Carrie & Big take a carriage ride through Central Park & end up paying the driver to take Carrie to the hospital as Miranda goes in to labour! Also Moon River is like the soundtrack to the episode. It’s lovely.

BethDuttonsTwin · 29/08/2023 19:42

So hard to choose!

The one where Miranda finds out she’s pregnant but it’s a secret from Steve and Carrie & Aiden fight about it. I thought that was such a true representation of a relationship, they played it perfectly.

Charlotte meeting Harry again at the Synagogue social and he proposes 😭

When Miranda is struggling being a new Mum and Samantha give her her hair appointment and babysits Brady - “that baby sounds like an asshole” 😁

When Carrie tells Berger’s friends he’s “Bad in Bed” 😁

Loved them all really ❤️

Harry proposing and the Harry and Charlotte’s accident prone wedding

The one where Charlotte realises she's been a dick about Harry. She asks if maybe he could consider calling her or asking her on a date. Then he says that's not good enough and proposes. I could watch that over and over.

I love charlotte's story arc in the original series. She's the one who I felt really developed as a character.

Yes I still get goosebumps thinking about that scene. It's so perfect because Harry is the opposite of what Charlotte thought she wanted, but their relationship appeared so genuine and realistic.

nutmegnook · 29/08/2023 20:37

I loved the ones in Paris with patroski

nutmegnook · 29/08/2023 20:39

Love the one where Miranda buys a whole cake to eat on her own on impulse because it looks so ice, buys it then feels guilty when she has eaten loads and throws it in the bin but puts washing up
Liquid on it to prevent her eating it out of the bin.

nutmegnook · 29/08/2023 20:40

Oh and what's the one where Miranda falls out of shower and does her back in and Carrie makes aiden go and help
And she is naked on the floor and he wraps her in the bath mat.

Is the Samantha babysitting episode the one when she puts her vibrator into Brady’s chair? Probably my favourite moment in the entire series 😀

Yes it is and I love that episode!!!

I also love the episode where Charlotte meets Trey’s mum for the first time and learns all the techniques Bunny used to get Trey to comply with what she wants.

I also like it when she finds Bunny rubbing Vixs Vapo Rub over Trey and sitting with him whilst he’s in the bath 😂

And when Bunny announces to people thah she saw Charlotte “kissing the gardener” 😂

I just really like Bunny!!

WantingToEducate · 29/08/2023 21:01

And I love the one where Miranda is interviewing potential tenants for the apartment block she lives in and how she reacts to the handsome doctor turning up and then all her flirtations (although I can’t actually remember his name). 😂

I also love how awkward she looks when they’re watching Jules and Mimi together 😂

MrsCharlieD · 29/08/2023 21:17

Escape from New York I think it's called, where they go to LA after charlotte's wedding. Amazing cameos by Vince Vaughan, Carrie fisher, Matthew McConaghy, and the different coloured shoes. I love that episode so much.

DancinOnTheCeiling · 29/08/2023 21:47

The way we were
“Your girl is lovely Hubbell". I don’t get it”. "And you never did”. And she walks off in the amazing white dress that looks so stunning. I LOVE that scene. It's so painful and amazing at the same time

Crikeyalmighty · 29/08/2023 21:51

@DancinOnTheCeiling oh I love those lines!! Made me cry - I think that's what the new series lacked- although I do think it's improved , those killer 'wise words'

I agree @Crikeyalmighty

Either My Motherboard Myself (where Miranda's Mum dies) or One (Brady's first birthday and Charlotte's miscarriage.

Both make me cry every time. My motherboard myself when Aiden and Steve show up at the funeral, and One when Charlotte watches the Elizabeth Taylor documentary, 'now is the time for guts and guile'

A woman's right to shoes.... really resonated with me at the time, andi I've never forgotten it!

The Every Outfit podcast episode about this one is really good too

It's gorgeous. And she's right - he never did get it. What a shame she ever went near him again

JMAngel1 · 30/08/2023 18:54

@Lottapianos
ok - you win! Yes that one was amazing. The first time I watched it I was screaming when they referenced “The Way We Were” as I had been obsessed with that film in my 20s.

Batatahara · 30/08/2023 18:58

“Not only have you ruined my marriage, you’ve ruined my lunch.”

I love Natasha and can't stand Carrie
