Sweet Magnolias is so disappointing this season! The first 3 were a bit lame and slow but I found it watchable, but this season I find it too sickly sweet. The kids all speak like adult poets instead of teenagers. The accents are all getting worse. Nothing is actually happening. Why is Noreen even there now? She is pointless!

I was just wondering if season three is worth it. The other two seasons were like audiovisual wallpaper and rather insipid. You lot aren't convincing me to continue!

S1 was gentle, unchallenging background viewing. Lovely flowers, pleasant interiors.

I realise the dialogue wasn't written with a British audience in mind, but I think the cultural gap has widened; S3 was difficult to watch without rolling my eyes and thinking "Oh FFS!"

Perhaps it would be more watchable if turned into a drinking game?

I've finished season 3 already, it was a bit slow and definitely not as good as 1&2.

I loved Virgin River and Firefly Lane though. What else might I like that's similar 😊

Everwood, which is on ITVx is very good.

I really like virgin river.

Im onto epiosde 3 of this series and not loving it. Its very much filler-tv isnt it? And I really liked season 1- and their characters. I feel its lost its way a lot. Just lots of fake dialogue.

Because she is (slightly) less irritating than Maddie and (marginally) less sanctimonious than Helen?

She also owns a restaurant.

It's gone so downhill in this season.
A PP mentioned it grates for the British Market.
Dana Sue's belts lol!
Anyone every see the actress whom plays her in Drop Dead Diva? She was fab in that.
They all seem to over act in this show. I don't think I'll watch anymore.

@OnionBhajis I forgot all about the little girl as she's hardly ever in it! Plus Noreen never has her own baby with her, all the townsfolk are lining up to babysit for her

I forgot I was going to say that about Katie. Has she actually been in it this season? She always seems to have just gone to bed/be at her grandma's/playing in her room and I don't recall actually seeing her yet!

Towards the end it was all about the book she's writing with Katie/and earlier on storytelling between maddie and Katie.

(And the American KD really grates on me. I watched one of my kids horse riding/ranch programmes and was convinced the character was KD!)

Well it’s lovely to look at but what an utter pile of shite. I love a bit of cheese but this was just too much, even for me.
I was wondering where the little girl was and when she did appear I couldn’t cope with her. Very annoying.

I'm 4 episodes in. It's very sweet but the first series was much better. The teens are so unrealistic surely ?! Chris Kliens voice is awful.

Ive just finished watching season 3 - it was a pile of crap but i enjoyed it Filler TV - sweet & saccharine but its a feast for the eyes! Agree re Chris Klein's accent.

I did think Noreen was terrible not letting Bill see the baby though - totally uncalled for even if he is a dick!

This is the series I love to hate. It's ridiculously twee, and I can't watch it twice, but somehow I've ended up invested in the storylines and seeing whether Jamie Lynn Spears learns how to act!

And season 4 of Sweet Magnolias... I wanted to like it ,I didn't hate it all, just didn't enjoy it as much. Lots of good moments and some disappointing story lines. I can't stand the noreen character, it's an unrealistic story line , who would welcome someone into their whole life who helped your husband betray you?
