Wow it was awful.

Does make me think though that if this happened today someone would blame it on climate change

I haven't watched this, tho I know all about that flood, and how it wasn't reported because of its Bad News vibe, when the country was still on its knees, post war.

That event was, I recall, exceptionally high tide, sea-wall failure and maybe allowing poor quality building in a flood-probe area?

If it happened today, with our superior planning laws, long term data collection, computer modelling etc, I think we'd be right to wonder why climate change, aka 'global warming' hadn't been taken into account.
