Tennis: WIMBLEDON nearing the end

I’m normally cynical but it is very windy in London today - met office warnings - so I think it was the right decision to close the roof. It’s supposed to ease tomorrow so hopefully the men will be playing with it open.

But then you miss that lovely tennis sound @Maireas

Phew, Ons really needed that.

I am slightly favouring Ons - would be so great for her to win - but Marketa is wonderful to watch so as long as we get three hard-fought sets I'll be happy whoever wins.

I love the crowd and the hit of the ball so I’ll take the commentary I guess

I don’t know that I can bear to watch this! Though this last game was the Ons I love.

Marketa is playing well, amazing that she has had so little experience on grass, but I so want it to be Ons’ year.

Remember Sharapova? That's when I started muting. I couldn't cope with her incessant yowling.

I think three sets will play to Ons’ advantage because of her experience, but Marketa doesn’t seem phased by the centre court / grand slam final thing at all. She must have nerves of steel.

I think Marketa is only 24 - the only info I know about her husband is they he’s 6feet 8, works in IT and looks after Frankie the cat!

I found him on LinkedIn when I was being a creeper earlier. Apparently he also used to play tennis, and is 26.
