If I like Nordic stuff what else should I watch?

I love Nordic tv programmes and films, I love the quirky vibe and listening to the language. I loved The Bridge, although I'm not normally a fan of crime stuff. I enjoyed Home for Christmas, a series I came across on Netflix, and a film I found called Likkevell (I think that's how you spell it)

Any other recommendations?

I'd be happy to try other foreign language stuff too, French or Spanish, but I really prefer the Nordic stuff (with subtitles obvs!)

Thanks 😊

Trapped & entrapped. Very good icelandic dramas.

Bearpawk · 08/07/2023 23:29

Oh, and Dark was excellent. It's German.

Bearpawk · 08/07/2023 23:31

Agree hinterland too

Puffthemagicdragongoestobed · 08/07/2023 23:39

Agree on Borgen (Netflix), State of Happiness (iPlayer) and Bonus Family (Netflix). Absolutely loved them all and no crime for a change!

Wisting is really good. Several seasons to watch.

CherryRipe1 · 08/07/2023 23:55

Beck is very good, Swedish detective/crime drama if that's your thing.

Mollymalone123 · 08/07/2023 23:58

Beck definitely
Wallander
The chestnut man
Also the original Girl with the dragon tattoo series but not the awful English one with Daniel Craig

Mollymalone123 · 08/07/2023 23:59

also The Forest

'Katla' on Netflix. Spooky supernatural Icelandic drama - we really enjoyed it.

'Hidden' on iPlayer - rural Wales but has quite a dark Scandi vibe, especially the first series.

StillWantingADog · 09/07/2023 00:01

Twin and State of happiness on iplayer (both Norwegian)
and the original girl with the dragon tattoo trilogy (Swedish).

Shayisgreat · 09/07/2023 00:34

Bordertown ( Finnish)
Occupied (Norwegian)

Both quite intense with little light periods.

astarsheis · 09/07/2023 10:52
