Yes so glad she's gone

TellingBone · 06/07/2023 20:28

Does this mean we get rid of Ma and Pa Charles as well? \o/

Where's she gone? Did her brother ever come back? He just vanished!

CoffeeLover90 · 06/07/2023 21:12

Can't say I'm sad to see her go. But the cheek of her, still spinning lies about the house share, took vinnies money, didn't say a real goodbye to the dad that took her in or manpreet who stood by her through the trial. I hope she's telling the truth when she says she's not coming back.

Great news for Billy and Dawn too, hope it's all happy and smooth sailing but doubt it.

OnTheBoardwalk · 06/07/2023 23:17

I don’t know what’s happening with the Charles and Naomi storylines. I’ve re wound (is this still a word) twice now all their stories from the last couple of episodes and still never made it to the end

Neverinamonthofsundays · 06/07/2023 23:20

On the plus side we saw 3 seconds of Dawn this evening so perhaps a decent storyline or decent actors are coming back when that WhineNaomi fucks off with Vinnies money, her grandads morals (Just cos he has been in prison doesnt mean he is a criminal!) and her technicolour coat. If she takes the rest of the clan with her I will be thrilled. Obv now with the Jai storyline Manpreet will have to dump Charles so stay in the village till we work out who his real mother is.

PrincessScarlett · 07/07/2023 07:53

Oooohhh I missed the second half. Has Naomi gone?? Did she take her horrible grandad with her?

Liked the scene when Cain picked Dan up from the police station and Dan hugged him. Another moment of Cain being a wonderful human.

JaneJeffer · 07/07/2023 10:35

Dan hugged Cain?? This I gotta see Grin

RaraRachael · 07/07/2023 10:40

Sadly @PrincessScarlett Naomi took neither her horrible Grandad or horrible jacket with her. So Growling Grandad is obviously the kind of role model she wants to follow so off she goes at the drop of a hat, having made a fool of poor Vinny. It was unbelievable how she managed to turn the nonpaying of drinks and her useless work ethic into an attack on her!
Then when the bit was revealed about Charles not giving his father an alibi, his God fearing mother turned against him. Sorry but if she's so straight laced that she objects to the length of Manpreet's skirts and them living together, she wouldn't approve of that - just no.

Virgo1958 · 07/07/2023 13:05

Glad to see some repercussions for punching someone, often random punches in the pub lead to no consequences and that's not a good message to put out imo.

PrincessScarlett · 07/07/2023 13:39

Liam Fox has been on TV this morning talking about the storyline being deliberately done to highlight the devastating consequences for all with a killer one punch.

Zarataralara · 07/07/2023 19:52

Charles’s dad has got an aneurysm and can pop off any minute. Please, please pop off asap.

PrincessScarlett · 07/07/2023 20:04

Well done Dan telling the wife what a pervert Lloyd is, I bet you anything he's done it before.

Ethan coming back was odd. No mention of huge absence and talked to his nan like she's always lived there when presumably he's not seen her in years

CoffeeLover90 · 07/07/2023 22:27

I watched on catch up. Paid little attention mostly but did anyone else notice how everyone seemed to stop and stare at Dan when he first walked into the hospital?
I do agree with raising the danger of causing serious harm or death with one punch, it does happen, but it would help if I felt a little sympathy for the victim.

PrincessScarlett · 07/07/2023 23:15

I think that's the point @CoffeeLover90, that it doesn't matter who the victim is really, it is highlighting how devastating it is for the puncher who never intended to kill someone, the puncher's family and friends, the victim's family. The odd camera work with everyone staring at Dan I guess was to show Dan's guilt.

I like Cain's supportive role to Dan as he knows exactly how Dan is feeling as he thought he had killed Joe Tate with one punch.

RaraRachael · 07/07/2023 23:15

Another boring pointless episode. That is all.

CoffeeLover90 · 07/07/2023 23:19

@PrincessScarlett I forgot about cain and Joe. That was awful

I'm a little worried about gabby now, she seems to be isolating herself.
Considering nicky hasn't been seen out and about in a while.

JaneJeffer · 07/07/2023 23:54

The type of person who goes around punching people is hardly likely to be an Emmerdale viewer or if they are they are unlikely to stop and think oh I mustn't do this because of what happened to Dan on Emmerdale.

CherryogDog · 08/07/2023 00:03

Where is Dotty these days?
And whatever happened to Maya's baby, and who turned out to be the father?
Who is Frankie's Dad? Was it Priya's boyfriend's son or was it someone else pregnant by him?
(I had a long break from watching).

JaneJeffer · 08/07/2023 00:05

David @CherryogDog

Dotty was around last week. I haven't watched this week yet.

CherryogDog · 08/07/2023 05:54

@JaneJeffer is the baby (child) with David?

CoffeeLover90 · 08/07/2023 07:03

@CherryogDog Mayas baby is with David. Him and Jacob did a dna, showing David was the father but him and Liam shared a look. So we'll probably learn the truth in 15 years.
Frankie is traceys daughter, don't remember there being any one other than nate.
I don't remember priyas step son either. That's either before I was watching or he was too boring to remember.

CherryogDog · 08/07/2023 07:38

I googled and it's Vanessa who has a baby with Kirin, son of Rakesh married to Prya.
I stopped watching for ages but got sucked back in by the 50th anniversary storm etc.

PrincessScarlett · 08/07/2023 09:17

Yes, Liam and David looked dodgy at the DNA reveal over Theo's daddy so it's bound to be Jacob and a future storyline to come.

I'm still hoping Nate is Reuben's daddy and it will be the big reveal that finally gets rid of drippy Chloe.

Exactly. And isn’t it a bit weird that he arrives the episode after Naomi leaves? Wouldn’t it have made more sense for him to have been around her departure?

(Although to be fair, I’m just glad the sour-faced, whinging, gobby little bint has gone. Worst character ever.)
