Really enjoyed the Andrew Lloyd Webber episode, very interesting ancestors on both sides and of all classes. Seems a decent man. Looking forward to Chris Ramsay”s later in the series.

I thought it was really interesting as well, been waiting ages for a new series

I dont know who a lot of the names are in this series but Ive found it doesnt matter if I dont know who they are, the stories are the thing.

Thanks I think it was an interesting episode and they aren’t all, I didn’t intend this to be provocative - should have known better I suppose. (Also own some flowery dresses 😱)

Just watched the Claire Foy one.

Thought that she looked quite like her dad's bio mum.

Only other one I'm interested in is Lesley Manville.

Thought there wasn't enough content in Clare Foy's and they made up court stuff to fill in.

Just watching the Kevin Clifton one now, it's absolutely riveting. It's amazing how his half-indigenous ancestor's name was passed all the way down to his father.

The first three on this series were a bit meh. Bear Grylls and his "I always wear kilts at home". Sure you do bear.

Kevin Clifton's story was so much better.

I thought Bear came across really badly in his, not sure why but the way he sounded and talked was off-putting. I am not a fan of adventure programmes so have really seen him in much before. Kevin’s was OK but I prefer it when they explore more than one family branch.

I think though that when you have a really engaging story like the first nations North America link,it's worth exploring that rather than looking at other, less interesting, branches.

I though ALW came across as really arrogant. His brother seemed the much nicer man. We lost count of the times he had to be told how to correctly pronounce his ancestor's name, only to replace with Mojito.

Bear Grylls grandfather seemed really interesting, and whilst it would be quite amazing to find out you're related to Robert the Bruce, I don't believe he's in a kilt at home either

ALW just seemed really disinterested by the whole thing.

As for the "related to Robert The Bruce" - it's really not amazing AT ALL. The maths are all here if you want to read it... https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/438140/how-many-descendants-does-a-pre-1700-ancestor-have-67-108-864 But basically, when you go back to 1300 when Robert the Bruce is kicking around, there aren't many people, and one person alive 700 years ago have millions of descendants. According to some sources I'm also related to Robert the Bruce through my paternal line. Me and millions of others.

But it makes for good telly.

Mojito is the name of ALW dog which featured in the episode and why he was mispronouncing his family name to sound the same way

Wow! Kevin Clifton’s story was amazing. Well worth a watch.
I always thought he was rather dull and boring (and maybe he still is) but his ancestor!

Just watched the kevin Clifton one.

Never heard of him but it was interesting.

Would have been interested to know how the Grace who was in the orphanage ended up in England!

Kevin 's was very interesting. But If he said 'great great great great great' once he said it many times!
