Home and Away, fancy a pizza and a beer at Salt? We can set the Bay to rights on the balcony...

So Zig and Dean have left, leaving lonely Mack with just Mali to walk in on in the bathroom. Remi loves Bree and Cash loves Eden, Tane married Flic and Leah hasn't dumped Justin yet. Kirby loves Theo and that's about it.

But who'll love who by page 40....

Re. Kirby's surfboard.....
(Note, I know nothing about surfing - although had a good go at wind-surfing off the coast of Kenya!)
SOMEtimes, she seems to use it as a sort of cover-up, but I also see that she wears clothes that show her body (NOT shaming), so don't expect it's bigger for that reason. Are there different board sizes for level of skill maybe?
She was the only one sitting on her board when they were out in the water, but don't think that means anything either.

Home and Away has been very good with their different cultures these days. It's actually nice to see.

The Paratas and their Maori traditions (taking shoes off before entering, the Haka and the taiaha), Kirby and her traditional Cook Island singing. Now Mali and his Aboriginal beliefs.

BadMotorhomeParent · 12/07/2024 19:05

Yes, I thought it might be that the actress isn't a super-skilled surfer.
And having seen trailers, she is NOT using it to cover up, so that's my theory out of the window.

I also do not understand surfing in a bikini - are they using toupee tape??
(Lost - almost - both parts of mine after a dive, just from the side of the pool!)
Men seem to wear bigger togs, but not women - sometimes a rash vest but not always.

Yes, it's great to see these traditions being respected. I know nothing about them, but pleased they are included 💕- their ceremonies are lovely and inclusive.

And Rose with South African parentage?

It's really nicely done. In a gentle this is our way

Why is levi grumpy that Imogen sent all his stuff!

Why is levi grumpy that Imogen sent all his stuff!

Maybe because he was hedging his bets, in the way of all Slimeballs.....
Or had taken his leaving as a chance to have a "clear-out".
Either way, what a specimen of a man.

Rummikub · 18/07/2024 14:54

And thought Remi was cheeky by first being annoyed about bree with nelson then reacting oddly when she explained.

I'm not liking this new bronte character.

I don't think it's the real thing with Mac, think he still wants Imogen. The problem is whenever he gets any chance of leaving Mac always persuades him to stay.

BadMotorhomeParent · 18/07/2024 23:27

The Mac and Levi storyline is just depressing; who are we meant to sympathise with....? becuase they brought it all on themselves, and people (including Eden) are expected to accept it. Honestly, how quickly are people referred to as "the Ex"?? (I have seen spoilers, so do know the way their particular storyline is heading - grrr.)

Random items from a shipwreck, at least gives John a chance to shine (and Dana was quite funny in a childish way). But this does not look good.... was it only me who was worried about the enormous tub of Chlorine alongside John in the Surf Club office? Anyway, it looks at though the containers still on the beach are going to cause even more trouble!

Rummikub · 18/07/2024 23:39

Before the end of first look episode I thought the tubs were like the start of an Enid Blyton shipwrecked adventure.

Levi and Mack - maybe they've written it that way on purpose so we don't know whose side to be on. Though me personally I'm not pro levi/ Mack.

SleepingStandingUp · 19/07/2024 11:57

Re the washes up cargo, surely they'd have seen it in the sea / surf before it was all nicely and cleanly dumped on the dry sand?

@SleepingStandingUp

That would be too logical/true to life....

xxSideshowAuntSallyxx · 27/07/2024 09:30

Do people really just invite strangers to come and stay? Then start donating thousands of dollars?

Mac has trust issues. Now there's a surprise, not! But nice bit of gaslighting from Levi and I was just starting to like him too.

I was thinking both those things. I'm glad Dana got suspicious. And funny how many people bronte was introduced to were medically trained!

No more mention of the stuff washed up on the beach? Though I missed a couple of episodes.

Levi was horrid when he gaslit mac. Where did all his stuff go?!

strugglingwithlife · 27/07/2024 20:57

That's what I was thinking as well. I mean why would you invite a stranger to stay who you only just met, just because you had a chat with them and they gave you a sob story. Irene is being very trusting but she's so gullible, poor Irene.
I'm glad Dana is suspicious.
Still don't like Levi.
Also, the diner opened already? I thought they needed extensive and expensive work doing? Or did I miss something?

EBearhug · 27/07/2024 22:59

Irene didn't really know Dana and whatshername, either, and probably others who've lived there.

But whatshername knew Cash so at least had someone who could give a reference!

EBearhug · 31/07/2024 23:04

That's true. Harper- I remembered.

For somewhere that's meant to be lovely and full of community etc, there's quite a lot of crime in Summer Bay.

Rummikub · 01/08/2024 18:26

Ouch! I felt that when they ripped that off Mackenzie!

xxSideshowAuntSallyxx · 15/08/2024 13:39

I'm so annoyed at Facebook, it keeps showing me spoilers (Oz pace).

I like having the River Boys back, so glad Mali called Dean.

Rummikub · 15/08/2024 20:31

Is mangrove river where the river boys are from?

I hope that Alf or John figure out what Bronte is doing. I can feel Dana's frustration at not being believed! She has really grown on me.
I thought Xander might get onto it when he suggested booking a flight to Canada.

xxSideshowAuntSallyxx · 15/08/2024 21:33

Yes it is.

I'm getting really frustrated that no one is believing Dana and just believing someone they don't know. Although Bronte stuffed up being rude to Alf because I think he suspects something.

And good on Bree, glad she's looking out for Dana because with a sister like Harper and a boyfriend like Xander she's pretty much on her own.

Rummikub · 16/08/2024 19:57

Finally others are realising something's off about bronte.

Is Rory a river boy? I don't think I watched during river boy times
