I didn't watch the end of the Djok match- at least the first set (which was over an hour long) gave him something to think about.
Shame about Gael- although I think Rune may have been a big ask.

We buried him in the garden this morning. Just as it was done a courier dropped a parcel off and DH told him the dog won't be annoying you anymore. I said he probably thinks you're like Fred West now 😬

DS2 started his summer holidays today and DH had coincidentally booked a couple of days off work because it's a bank holiday weekend here so at least I have some distraction. I keep wandering around aimlessly. Weirdly yesterday I opened DS's poetry book he had left on his desk and the poem ended "all
life death does end and each day dies with sleep". I never liked that Gerard Manley Hopkins.

I can't watch at the moment- is Casper in his stripy shorts/mustard combo? Couldn't decide if I liked it the other day. It's a sort of 'old fashioned/ sporty' looking kit, that I can imagine Benoit wearing.

It's funny, because over the years, Rafa has been out injured and missed numerous tournaments, so I sort of get used to him not being there.
But not at RG- it does feel like something is missing, and although Carlos was great (and it's ashame we won't see Rune today)- the excitement isn't there .

He plays ADF next, who obviously has beaten him before, but hasn't had the best season so far. He's had some up and down results- and his match against Rune of course.

Elena seems to have had an easy win.

I think the women's title will be between Iga, Elena and Aryna.

But upsets happen a lot more with the women than the men- so I could be wrong. I thought Garcia had a reasonable chance to do well- but she lost early.

I've just seen that Altmaier is also wearing the Casper kit- but with plain orange/mustard shorts , rather than stripes. Can't decide if it's better.

I've been watching Holger's press conference and I noticed Sascha's Yorkshire man is there again this year
