American Horror Story Season Ratings

Been doing some rewatching lately and been having a think about my fave/least fave seasons. Now these will change as the rewatch continues but as it stands mine are.....

1 - Asylum
2 - Coven
3 - Murder House
4 - 1984
5 - Freak Show
6 - Hotel
7 - Apocalypse
8 - Roanoke
9 - Cult
10 - New York
11 - Double Feature

Now I will also say that I enjoyed all the seasons, and my least favourite AHS is still better than most other things on TV, hence the rewatch.

Any fellow fans have any thoughts?

Freak Show is my least favourite, I couldn't get past episode 3. The clown just did me in!
I love Asylum, Hotel and Apocalypse. NYC broke my heart and has stayed with me, it was a hard watch and very different to the other seasons.
I need to have a rewatch I think.

I love AHS. I think it's some of the best written tv ever. My fav season is murder house, closely followed by coven, asylum, apocolaypse and hotel. I thought roanoke, cult and double feature we're pretty boring. I haven't managed to get through NY yet. Having trouble adjusting to it being so different to the others.

My favourites are Murder House and Roanoke. Couldn't finish NYC, found it too boring. I think Its a Sin did it better.

Oh yes It's A Sin was wonderful and heartbreaking.

I thought the first half of double feature was fine, but the second half was terrible so it knocked it down for me.

With Roanke I didn't like the first half but thought it was great in the second part when they went back.

I think all seasons are vastly improved by Jessica Lange even though she kind of plays the same type of character every time 🤣

I think Hotel was my favourite, if only for the amazing art deco setting! I really liked Lady Gaga in it even though I don’t like her normally. Otherwise agree Jessica Lange is amazing always. Didn’t like 1984, was just like a boring teen slasher to me. Not so keen on Roanoke either, not sure why.

I don't want to commit to a top 10 😁 but I love Roanoke, Cult, Murder House and Freak Show. I know it's heresy, but Coven and Asylum aren't favourites!

I thought the NYC season was incredibly moving. You could tell that it was a story very close to home for the show runners. The use of the leather daddy as symbolic of AIDS and the photographer character based on Robert Mapplethorpe were highlights for me. I didn't like the serial killer storyline. That felt formulaic and shoehorned in. They were clearly trying to do something a bit different with this season and I think the horror of AIDS should have been allowed to stand alone.

Yes totally agree with this take on New York. Russell Tovey was excellent in it.

I really loved NYC. I’m a huge AHS fan & enjoyed all of them with the exception of Roanoke & Double Feature (I didn’t hate them, just didn’t love them as much)

I did think the last season wasn't that great

The first bit yes with the vampires

Not so much 2nd half with aliens

Asylum - def no 1 - R.E.M. watching that working nights and creepy

Yes Asylum is so creepy and I loved how they carried on Lana Winters into other seasons. I also loved the Pepper episode of Freak Show where it ties back into Asylum.

I'd defo recommend a rewatch, I certainly picked up on things I missed 1st time round.

The 2nd half of double feature is my absolute least favourite part of the AHS series, I'll skip over that in my rewatch I think.

love AHS, don’t think I have a favourite as they all have their own merit but adored Jessica Lange feel it did change a bit when she left and the last couple with no Evan or Sarah. But NYC I found very moving and symbolic

it still boggles my mind that they are the creators of Glee! To go from happy clappy glee to AHS talk about different ends of the scale 😅
