I love Lionel but I thought he looked very strange yesterday whatever he's had done. I wish I had recorded it.

Weather a it different today- absolute torrential rain. I just took the dog out- dd2 said I look like a soggy poodle.

I didn't watch the concert, but I have recorded it, so I will fast forward bits. I always find things like that are better 'live'- and not the same afterwards.

I am intrigued about Azarenka, and why she couldn't speak. I knoe she's quite outspoken and has said a few things over the years that have rubbed people up the wrong way, so I wonder what that's about?

It is all a bit weird isn’t it? Azarenka has said on social media that she’s had to explain to her son Leo why she couldn’t say hello to him after winning her match - especially weird as the men’s doubles winners were allowed to do a speech

What with this and the model ballgirls in their skimpy outfits, the difference in birthday celebrations and the late night scheduling no wonder Feli looked a bit distracted!

Fizzy Feli will be wishing he was somewhere else- there were certainly a few things that threatened to overshadow the tennis. It's not a good look, that it seems to be all the women's stuff that has been treated badly.

It was such a strange end to the doubles- and given that even during Covid restrictions ( with no crowds watching) - winners gave speeches, it just seemed so abrupt and it was obviously not what any of the commentary team expected- they were pretty shocked and confused by it.

I've just skimmed through the Coronation concert. The Royals seemed to enjoy it , anyway. I liked Kermit and Mis Piggy (even if Kermit sounded a bit odd).
A few years ago, I got dd1 a Kermit for Christmas (I had one as a child too)- but I didn't want to wrap him, incase he couldn't breathe . So I made him a paper waist coat.

I thought Kermit sounded a bit odd as well - he sounded like someone vaguely familiar - maybe John Major!

The waistcoat is also very well executed - have you thought of going on sewing bee?

The weather’s rubbish here although it might have just stopped raining. I’m even contemplating doing some ironing .. but maybe not!

I can't find 'my' Kermit, sadly, He's probably in the loft somewhere with my puppet Emu.

Paper 'sewing' would definitely about as good as I get. . I was pretty proud of it.

Loving the paper waistcoat! I am at my mum’s and she has a Coronation Colin the Caterpillar Cake. His face was very tasty.

Jane and Raahh are probably upset that you ate Colin’s face Chessie - does look tasty though

Fizzy- I always eat the head of a jelly baby first- otherwise, if you eat the body they can feel it. It's would have been cruel to eat Colin's feet first.

I love a caterpillar cake. It's our 'go to' birthday cake. Our's is usually the Asda version (we've tried them all).I've noticed that -(apart from Sainsburys, where it was always called Wiggles)- the 'fake' versions of Colin have moved away from C - names. Asda's used to be called Clyde- and is now Letty.

I think M&S got a bit litigious about other caterpillar cakes with C names! Someone once brought a Home Bargains version into work - I can’t remember what it was called but it wasn’t very nice!

Fizzy yes, the names seem to have changed over the last 6 months or so (Clyde was still Clyde in September, whe it was dd2's birthday - and Letty by Ds's at Christmas).

It's silly really, other shops had been selling fake Colins for years before M and S got stroppy with Aldi.

Maybe Feli should have given all the tennis players with birthdays, a caterpillar cake. Save him the grief he got for favouring Carlos

Yes Feli should have stuck with Colin the Caterpillar cakes - the women probably would have ended up with those mini ones though and he would be in even more trouble

I’m about to listen to the Tennis Podcast - there’s an item called #cakegate!

It has certainly caused a fuss.

It's not even just a 'male/female' thing, since Holger's cake was a lot like Aryna's. It was (according to Feli) because it was an event in Spain (and he's Spanish) , he'd just won to get to the final, and he was playing on centre court.

Now , that's fine- but they didn't just whip that cake up in the minutes after he he won the match (what if he had lost? did they have a smaller cake on standby?) - so the fact he made the final is no reason to present hm with a bigger cake .

Feli insisted Holger was fine with it- no mention of Aryna (who also made the final!)
