Anyone watching tonight? That poor lad bleeding out.

OP posts:

@LadyGaGasPokerFace they thought she might have been groomed as the first contact they all had the young lady was only 16 and working at a 'front' for laundering cash. She was a child.
I lost all sympathy for her when she did a no comment interview. She didn't come across as scared, intimidated etc and she knew how to play the game.

PriamFarrl · 22/03/2023 23:19

I think this series is amazing. Just the logistics of getting all the footage from various cameras staggers me.

It was interesting how much evidence came from various social media and texting.

I’m not sure about the connection with the two men. It just seemed she just saw him showing off his two watches and decided to rob him.

Stomacharmeleon · 21/03/2023 22:41

I am also sure Supreets son is 'stern' as the policeman called him as both his parents are inside and this is an occupational hazard.

Ten years for fake watches and a man's life.

I missed that bit. Who is his dad? Cleon Brown?

Stomacharmeleon · 23/03/2023 03:18

@FoxCorner they mentioned at the beginning that supreet's partner is in prison for violent offences and locked up for a long time.

AppleCrumbleIceCreamDream · 23/03/2023 08:27

There's a few comments mentioning the "no comment" interviews
Whilst obvious that this lot are scumbags, a no comment interview doesn't actually mean anything by way of guilt or character.

Most initial legal advice is to go "no comment", solicitors do not want their client to implicate themselves before all the evidence has been shown. It is a legal tactic, if evidence is overwhelming then they go about working out how to deal with it in the best way for the client. The advice is to say nothing and not emotionally react to any questions so as not to give anything away.

The police officer herself explained that on this episode.

If the guy with the expensive coat had started talking then he would have definitely implicated himself as initially they didn't have enough evidence to charge him.

Stomacharmeleon · 23/03/2023 09:33

It's a legal tactic for the guilty.
If you were 100 miles away tucked up in bed and could prove that you would just say so.

Stomacharmeleon · 23/03/2023 09:34

It means everything about guilt and character.

Thanks. Their poor kids.

PriamFarrl · 23/03/2023 12:59

I’m sure there was an episode Criminal (I think) about how people just assume that because they are innocent that the police will see that straight away. But that’s not always the case. Even if you are innocent then a ‘no comment’ interview can be a good move.

I didn’t like the angle with them saying that Temidayo might have been groomed as she knew Surpreet. How the hell did she get to the 3rd year of uni? All to fuck it off.

Also, who would think that Saul living in a crappy dingey flat in Luton would own one Rolex, let alone two.

Firstly they always say females are groomed, never males.

They worked in the shop together, owned by the Asian lady and a front for drugs.

Just because someone is at uni, doesn't mean they aren't groomed

The men were known to each other. One used his name as a alias.

FlamingoCroquet · 24/03/2023 23:20

It made me wonder how on earth any murders were solved before the days of CCTV and phone tracking.

I meant the connection between the two men and the victim.

I remember hearing this phrase, but not understanding of it had a different meaning, why did they refer to him as 'stern'

Choice4567 · 20/03/2023 22:13

It was good! I’m always surprised that the suspects agree to be in the documentary, especially when it shows how clearly they were involved

They don't agree. If they're convicted criminals they don't get a choice. It's why you can always tell if someone in the documentary doesn't go prison cause they blur their face out.

Stomacharmeleon · 25/03/2023 08:20

@Hohofortherobbers because understandably he had just heard his mother being arrested for murder (she complained about it later on the phone to him- 'why did they say that?'), Surpreet already knew the others and one had been arrested at her house previously and his dad is in prison. He has probably seen a lot.

mommatoone · 25/03/2023 11:01

I wonder if this a new series or just a one off?

There's been loads of these. It's a really good series

failedbluecup · 25/03/2023 23:23

@PriamFarrl yeah they missed that out.

Clearly was an issue with gangs etc.

Schmutter · 26/03/2023 10:49

This is one of the best things on TV. I just wish there were more of them.

Tirrrrred · 26/03/2023 22:34

If they hadn't been to kfc though he wouldn't have been caught. How bad is that.

They knew there was CCTV in the flat yet he wore that limited very distinctive coat. Without those two he would have got away with it.

Tirrrrred · 26/03/2023 22:36

Also that other detective annoyed me. She just agrees with everything. She even said "he had been asleep because he was found naked" why would anyone assume he had been asleep when he had two women in his flat?

And he had some sort of sex with one.....

Perhaps this was actually revenge attack

Pemba · 27/03/2023 04:44

I would have liked to find out more about the background to the case etc, and their motivation.

What a sad waste, a young man lost his life, Surpreet will have lost custody of her children (poor kids!), Temidayo has thrown away her chance to get a degree in the final year and basically ruined her own life. All for two fake Rolexes! Surely there must be more to the story than that?

Clutterbugsmum · 27/03/2023 06:53

There is a lot of back story missing from this programme.

Like the fact that the victim was in an earlier season (Season 4) he beat up a women in a hotel and selling guns. He was also known locally for drug dealer and violence.
