Anyone watching tonight? That poor lad bleeding out.

So good to see the diligence and the efforts of the investigation team paid off. What a vile bunch of people.

When they got sent the coat to do a reconstruction I found myself wondering if they’d had to buy it, or if the company sent them one for free! Can you imagine that on the case expenses - “hang on you paid WHAT for a really naff coat?!”

Yes same here, I couldn't see the point of the reconstruction though - what were they doing it for?

Sidge · 21/03/2023 22:36

@OneFrenchEgg i think they needed to demonstrate that it was the fella they thought it was, in KFC, as his coat looked the same in CCTV in KFC as it did in the flat lobby.

Stomacharmeleon · 21/03/2023 22:38

@OneFrenchEgg because they had little evidence to put that man in Luton. They could on the other hand put that expensive, rare and unusual coat there. If it was the some one. That bloke was forensically aware so not phone data etc.
I always thought that burglar from before who wasn't identified was under 18 or had cases pending.

Copperoliverbear · 21/03/2023 22:39

I've watched both episodes now they ought to bring back hanging some people are just plain evil

Stomacharmeleon · 21/03/2023 22:41

I am also sure Supreets son is 'stern' as the policeman called him as both his parents are inside and this is an occupational hazard.

Ten years for fake watches and a man's life.

Choice4567 · 20/03/2023 22:13

It was good! I’m always surprised that the suspects agree to be in the documentary, especially when it shows how clearly they were involved

They don't get a choice. When you see documentaries like this, if their faces are obscured, they have been found guilty. ITV are allowed to show it

mommatoone · 21/03/2023 22:42

I think the reconstruction of the coat (in the flat area really)was because the original footage was in black and white.
So they bought one and reconstructed in black and white to show the similarities.
I think they would have had like a profiler on this case to show the body shape of the guy in the coat- and match it up to the kfc guy etc

LakeTiticaca · 21/03/2023 22:45

Brilliant programme and shows the diligence of the police and how polite they are to these scumbags when they really would like to smash their faces in 😡😡

TossInSomeGrapes · 21/03/2023 22:46

They explained in the documentary why they did a reconstruction with the coat. It was one of 69 bought in the country. If they could pin that coat being at the crime scene then it would improve their chances of putting him away. The CCTV was in black and white and they needed to prove that the shoulders of the coat reacted the same on the CCTV.

OneFrenchEgg · 21/03/2023 23:04

@Stomacharmeleon @Sidge thank you! I thought I'd understood where it was going and then they had the coat on someone who looked nothing like Ethan (?)

OneFrenchEgg · 21/03/2023 23:06

@mommatoone @TossInSomeGrapes thank you too, I must have misunderstood that but, makes sense now. Amazing what they do to check things out.

Yellowdays · 22/03/2023 00:00

I thought they all four of them went from acting shocked to no commenting.

dimples76 · 22/03/2023 00:04

I think that they were genuinely shocked because they hadn't realised that Saul had died. Then they switched to survival mode. I was quite surprised that the CPS agreed to charge the bloke who stabbed him because at that stage they seemed to have very little evidence against him. What a waste of lives all around.

ilovebrie8 · 22/03/2023 08:36

Shocking the females were just as much to blame with the honey trap. They had done it before ...funding expensive lifestyles off robbery and drugs . It’s shocking the way society has become ...low lifes

I agree, I really thought he’d get away with it. I think the police thought he would too. I’m glad he didn’t!

Grandmalifts · 22/03/2023 10:01

I wonder if Surpreet will have her children removed, regardless of her mother as carer both parents are really dangerous.

Stomacharmeleon · 22/03/2023 13:02

It was interesting when the police said in light of the serious offence someone normally turns and in this case they didn't. I think it proves how heavily entrenched all of them adds in criminality.
I think Saul probably fought back hence the stabbing.
I would also bet Surpreet's children have remained with her family and visit her regularly. In this case the women were just as bad as the men. I am glad they got fairly strong sentences.

OneFrenchEgg · 22/03/2023 13:04

I was surprised at the lack of clarity about why the men came - I wondered if there was a grudge there. They also skipped past a reference to sexual activity with Surpreet being in evidence. I felt like we didn't get a full understanding of why.

Sidge · 22/03/2023 14:08

Yes I felt that there a few questions left unanswered.

DNA results showed evidence of Surpreet on Saul, suggesting sexual contact. How was Temidayo involved? They drugged him with GHB to rob him, so where do the men come into it? Why did the women let them in if their only intention was to rob him of drug money and steal the Rolexes? Surely then they'd have to share the proceeds? There was nothing to suggest that Surpreet had acted in robberies with other people before, she'd worked alone.

All very murky and just a bizarre way to live.

thethinendofthewedge · 22/03/2023 17:33

Temidayo is the biggest disappointment being in the final year of a university degree and blowing it all. Greed and stupidity. I think she was genuinely shocked it had gone from robbery to murder. It's hard to know what her role in it was. Were they offering a threesome?
Surpreet was more hard faced and experienced. If she's admitting to 6 other honeytrap robberies how many has she actually done? The guys also: one a bit more harder than the other. I don't suppose any of them expected Saul to die from his wound but they had joint purpose and if you go equipped then you're responsible for the outcome, a young man died. Did they not think the drugging would totally work?

I don’t think they were that shocked tbh. Impossible to know of course but the way those men walked in through the propped open door was really menacing. Something about their intent. They weren’t going in that flat for a nice chat that’s for sure. I think there was some sort of revenge scenario going on.

As pp said, a terrible waste of lives and absolutely catastrophic for the victim’s dc and the perpetrators dc too.

LadyGaGasPokerFace · 22/03/2023 20:55

I didn’t like the angle with them saying that Temidayo might have been groomed as she knew Surpreet. How the hell did she get to the 3rd year of uni? All to fuck it off.

Also, who would think that Saul living in a crappy dingey flat in Luton would own one Rolex, let alone two.

The Rolexes turned out to be fake. I don't know if Murray knew that or not.

It did say he had recently been released from prison so I assumed it was some kind of hostel place associated with that.

Being involved in criminal lifestyle he could have lived in that small place and owned a rolex so it's not a surprise that the murderers thought it was real.

ItsReallyOnlyMe · 22/03/2023 22:45

The BBC report on the case says the men went in when the drug did not knock Saul out.

I'm guessing the men were the women's back up if it became nasty - which it clearly did.
