Is there a Eurovision thread yet?

If there is and my lackluster search has missed it- my apologies. Not sure if anyone else is ready for one yet and the build up?

Luckily booked hotel in Liverpool before it was announced and they seem to be honouring the booking at the price we booked. No luck with tickets ( did not try for final- want to watch that in PJs with a drink) - wanted the family show.

Any one else?

Ireland, Poland to vie for last place.

I really like the UK entry this year and have even heard it being played on the radio recently! Hopefully that means the song will do well on the night?

Ireland's entry sounds suspiciously like Jedward

I’d like it if Jedward gave it another go, I actually really liked lipstick. Didn’t think much of the other one they entered though.

Just had a listen to Moldova as I usually enjoy their entries. It was ok but they’ve done that thing where the song sounds a bit like the previous year’s winner. Lots of folky flute action going on.

There was something about the way the main singer was moving around that made me think of them too.

They're not a patch on Jedward. I never thought I'd express a thought like that.

I've listened to the Netherlands entry and also the Armenian song - both nice imo.

6 weeks today! Who else is feeling the anticipation for the final? I always watch the semi finals too, so even less to wait for those.

The internal acts for the semis have been announced, but nothing for the final yet.

Semi final 1 looks very tough

I expect Croatia will qualify for the final. It absolutely shouldn’t, but it will. It’s hideous.

Hopefully lovely Sam will be the interval act for the final- with Kalush orchestra!

I'm also desperately hoping for Go-A as an interval act for the final. They'll be in Liverpool for Eurovillage etc. that week and seeing them at the show I'm going to (Saturday afternoon) would be the icing on the Eurovision cake!

I would absolutely love that. Their entry is still on my running playlist. If they’d have entered any other year in the last 10 years I’d of wanted them as the winners!

I'm hoping we'll finally get the Jemini reunion we've all been wishing for... After all, they met and started their careers in Liverpool!

The grand final interval acts have been announced! It's a medley by previous winners/ stars.

Have been looking at everything going on all week for Eurovision in Liverpool. Getting excited now! I have spare rooms to sort out!

I think it's a great line up, but no Jemini ... yet! 😉 I can't believe my luck with Go_A and Mahmood.

This is your last call for Eurovision:

The last minute resale started today at noon. We have managed to get (much much cheaper) tickets for the matinee semi preview on the Thursday so I'm going slightly crazy right now. I may explode.

Looking now at 1.10pm I believe there are a few tickets STILL available (look for sky seats) but you have to buy in pairs. The ones still available aren't cheap, but they are cheaper than the seats we were looking at on the initial sale.

If anyone is planning to go to the fan zone during the week, make sure you allow a little time to get through security. It's slow and there is only a couple of entrances.

The shows seem start pretty early - especially on semi final nights as the main event is the live screening those days.

I'm yet to find somewhere with rough stage times which is annoying. Wednesday and Friday look better if you are looking for live music and tomorrow night is Ukrainian night which I'd have loved to go to but we have to drop guest at airport tomorrow evening.

Fan zone is free except Saturday. I do think it's worth a look if you are local and haven't got tickets for something else. Google eurovillage for more details.

Pints are £6.50 in the fan zone area.

I must admit to finding it disjointed in terms of finding what's on where around the city.

It looks like St George's hall still has tickets for a live screening event which includes a meal and gin for the semis and the final which sounds fun if you haven't got tickets for anything else too.
