Who will go with them? Is there time for new bombshells? 12 days to go. Bring it.

This is the worst series I've watched and I've seen them except series 2.

The best one for me was the Kem/Amber/Olivia Attewood/Chris Hughes one.

You should watch Series 2 on ITVX. It’s really good. My favourite actually. I rewatched it out of boredom last year and it still holds up. A great mix of characters and some great drama and that’s without Casa Amor!

callthataspade · 05/03/2023 17:39

Never liked Rosie there's something calculating about her.

How convenient after Olivia goes there's another sly shit stirrer around.

Controversially I also hate Lana. I don't trust her. This innocent sweet thing is an act. She was very quick to agree with Olivia etc behind everyone's backs.

She's always in the middle of all the bitchy chats but because she's 'nice girl' Lana no one seems to blame her.

She's thick as shit too. She deserves slimy Ron

I'm not keen on Lana, but due to her having no backbone. I don't think she particularly enjoys bitching, she just nods along, without fully committing herself, as she doesn't have the balls to voice her opinion. I don't think she likes conflict.

Zampa · 05/03/2023 18:46

I'm not entirely sure that Rosie can be labelled a "shit stirrer".

Ron said something likely to be viewed as controversial about her partner and of course she's going to share that with Casey.

I'm not a big Rosie fan tbh but think her actions are justifiable here.

kenyaswhiterefrigerator · 05/03/2023 18:51

Casey's just there for a lads holiday. He forms showmances so to not be voted out because he's enjoying time with the boys.

Rosie calling him out for not wanting to spend time with her alone is not a great move. Casey backs off the moment anyone is serious.

I totally agree with this.

callthataspade · 05/03/2023 19:02

@Zampa I'm not talking about that. Her with Jessie and other things. She's very quick to get in to point out peoples upsets

She was laughing at Tom at the sports day thing. Which frankly bordered on bullying.

Meh I just don't like her. There's something off with her.

I'm a day behind on the show so I don't even know what you're talking about!

Zampa · 05/03/2023 19:13

Ah ok @callthataspade I think we probably agree on that then.

Strawberrypicnic · 05/03/2023 19:24

I don't think this series has been too bad but the public really should to be able to vote people out. It's always voting for the 'most compatible couple'. I think Keanan was popular and deserved to stay in for longer but he didn't have a chance because how is he supposed to become sufficiently established in a romantic couple in just a few days? It would also be good to be able to to vote out one individual out of a couple, leaving the other with the decision of whether to walk or stay to potentially meet a new bombshell. Being able to vote individuals out would lead to totally different set of results than voting for the most compatible couple and would more accurately reflect what the public think/want to see. As it is it feels very unsatisfying. I understand 'mental health' but it feels disingenuous to use that as the reason in light of the other stuff that happens on the show and the fact that the portrayals of people are blatantly manipulated anyway. Because the show is called Love Island I think the producers feel like they have to end up with X number of couples that each have a somewhat coherent narrative, but the current approach isn't making for good viewing. I also wish they'd let them have more than one drink occasionally, i totally agree not letting them get so boozed that they make decisions they'll regret but you can feel the boredom emanating through the screen sometimes! Series 2 was amazing because at least it seemed like they were genuinely having fun. You need a bit of vicarious holiday vibes IMO.

Can't believe I have just typed such a missive about a dating show, can you tell I'm procrastinating....

Boulshired · 05/03/2023 20:00

I’m the opposite about voting, the public would end up voting all the controversial contestants out. This then leaves the producers manipulating then contestants for any conflict they can find. I’d like to vote some of Casa to stay, there has to be singles left after Casa or what the point of bombshells

Brilliant post. It would be SO much better to vote for individuals rather than couples and the public should be allowed to decide who goes! I don't think keeping people in that the producers favour (like Casey over Keanan and Claudia) is doing the show any favours at all

Mouldyfoodhelp · 05/03/2023 20:43

How would voting for individuals work though? This show is about couples and voting individuals potentially ruins the concept as it limits how much chemistry they can build up if you're constantly getting rid of single people.

Not that it's real anyway but I'm sure you get what I mean lol

Indivuals were sent home a few seasons ago, I’m sure of it. And the other person had to perform some mental gymnastics to justify staying when the other one had to go.

Didn’t it happen to “I’m loyal me” Georgia?

Just tuning in and interesting that Ron is talking so openly about being a viewer and looking at people’s tactics- don’t remember anyone being so explicit about it tbh

Lampzade · 05/03/2023 21:17

Samie and Tom being a bit bitchy there.

Jellykat · 05/03/2023 21:17

True re. Rons 'tactics', interesting that Sammie picked up on it too.

Zampa · 05/03/2023 21:18

Can't stand Ron saying he made Lana his girlfriend, like she plays a completely passive role in the relationship.

TBF, it's Lana's timidity that Ron likes about her

riotlady · 05/03/2023 21:22

Rosie looks really nice in her glasses

Zampa · 05/03/2023 21:22

None of these islanders can recall a conversation as it actually happened.

Why are these people twisting words?

Zampa · 05/03/2023 21:26

They're all bored I guess.

After reading this thread, all I notice with Rosie is her monoboob. 😳

Jellykat · 05/03/2023 21:28

He said, she said.. whatever.. they must be soooo bored!

Tom loves a good gossip
