Casey and Tom were quite funny in unseen bits and do seem to have a good friendship. Just watched First Look and tonight looks like a snooze fest with a challenge.

XelaM · 26/02/2023 13:45

I switched off the unsern bits on the tickling of Casey and the nipple pinches or whatever that was. Casey is so creepy and totally into Tom.

I do like Tom though.

CrkdLttrCrkdLttr · 26/02/2023 14:05

The fact that it’s obvious Casey prefers Tom to any of the women in the villa makes it all the more imperative for the LI producers to create a non-heteronormative version of the show.

beastlyslumber · 26/02/2023 14:10

How would that work though? Would you have an all-male or all-female version? Or one where everyone was bisexual? I like that idea although I'm not sure how easy it would be to find that many bisexual people who wanted to do it.

CrkdLttrCrkdLttr · 26/02/2023 14:29

Must admit I haven’t worked out the details, @beastlyslumber .Grin

Anyway, this (photo) is from the Mirror. (Which I don’t read; it came up on my phone.) Now tell me ITV don’t intend Will to take away the prize …

The American dating show Are You The One had a series (8) in which all the contestants were LGBT or bisexual and it worked well as I remember. The premise of the show for those who haven't seen it is that every contestant is profiled and their 'perfect match' is in the show they just have to find them.

If they all find there perfect match by the final show they win a share of 1 million dollars. My DD and I love the show.

So I think a bi or mixed love island could work well and make a nice change.

CrkdLttrCrkdLttr · 26/02/2023 14:40

Oh wow - that’s fascinating, @piperatthegates . Good to know it could work. I’ve always thought the strictly boundaried format of LI seems quite strange and out of step with everything the target demographic must take for granted.

It will be interesting to see how the Love Island for more 'mature' people will go as well don't you think?😃

They seem to have a lot of fun in Unseen Bits, pity it's not shown in the main show. They also look like they get on together too.

autienotnaughty · 26/02/2023 15:31

I agree I'm enjoying the unseen bits. The main show makes them appear boring and stilted.

I do like Jessie. Ron's growing on me a bit. I really like Tom. I like Kai and Sanam. I think Liv is funny as she's so over the top nobody takes her seriously. The rest I'm really not bothered about.

Unseen Bits are so much more like the earlier series of LI - where we saw so much personality and bromances etc

This sounds so good. Where can I see it? DS2 is bi-sexual, so it'd be brilliant to watch it together.

Hi @Puffalicious, I just had a look and it doesn't look like you can get it anywhere for free at the moment unfortunately.

It is available on Prime Video or Sky if you pay and looks like you can watch it if you have a Now TV pass or on Paramount Plus (they seem to have a free trial at the moment 😀).

There’s a TV drama on at the moment where at one point a young man is abducted - but he doesn’t know it. He thinks he’s out for a nice day with a new friend … (Who is preparing to murder him if events elsewhere make it necessary).

Could you tell us the name please?

It's called Better. I really wouldn't bother though! Dreadful final episode

CrkdLttrCrkdLttr · 26/02/2023 18:05

I did, far above! Grin

CrkdLttrCrkdLttr · 26/02/2023 18:09

I’d say it’s worth the time it takes to watch. Wonderful set of actors - the material doesn’t quite do them justice but it’s reasonably entertaining.

Pixie2015 · 26/02/2023 19:30

Would love to watch were they put everyone in house from start instead of dropping bombshells in and let the public vote out.

or a house full who think they are originals but don’t film them and evict them 1 by 1 and put them in real house as bombshells.

or just do the over 35s and drop the coupling aspects.

Mouldyfoodhelp · 26/02/2023 19:59

As there's been some chat I'll ask outright LI is getting a bit stale how would you liven it up?

For me:

  1. show unseen bits content more in the normal show

  2. less obvious producer involvement

( less obvious ones now)

  1. Change the coupling at the start maybe have them spend a few days with each person before first coupling

  2. tasks not just focused on sex positions/ kissing

  3. maybe a version with people a little older.

  4. get rid of the hideaway it's dreadful.

  5. a more interesting place to live, I get that they want people in bikinis but if there's more activities there could be less manufactured chats.

  6. a longer Casa Amor/ bombshells take interested parties to another villa for a few days.

jay55 · 26/02/2023 20:06

Add games nights that are not all innuendo.
Give them more things to do that lead to natural conversations. I understand they can't have them all smoking on camera but a ping pong or snooker table, somewhere to gather that isn't being pulled for a chat.

I went on holiday mid this season and didn't tune back in, but saw a fair number of clips on socials.

Last summers one was the first I watched fully, said I wouldn't bother again. This one came around saw the first 3-4 then it just dropped off my radar and for some in explicable reason I decided to catch up after being 20+ episodes behind. I think as a nightly watch it works as easy not too intense watching but I don't find it bingeable if you fall behind there's no variety, there needs to be more variety

beastlyslumber · 26/02/2023 20:27

Make it Big Brother!

Make it Big Brother!

Later this year! which is exciting but I don't think it would work how LI is filmed, they can't have days off out as that defeats the whole point so I'm a bit concerned with how it'll go. I guess though with programmes like LI being held in a house with no contact of the outside world isn't as revolutionary now as LI basically do it as did the circle and such.

Interestingly Big Brother was apparently meant to be early this year but with all the reality programming ITV have this year they put it back to later in the year.

I'd like to see 15 people or so in the villa, getting to know each other for 2 to 3 days, with a coupling up after this time and maybe 12 staying on after that.

Mouldyfoodhelp · 26/02/2023 21:08

What about a phased introduction over a few days? You get 2-3 in to begin after 6hrs or a day they decide to couple up or stay single if they couple up 2 more come in, if they both don't wanna couple up both come in, if only 1 wants to couple up then only 1 person comes in for the person who didn't want to?
