such a horrible phrase to promote to younger viewers - if you're not in a relationship/understanding, then of course you don't need "permission"; but if you ARE in a relationship, then you wouldn't do anything with someone else, and wouldn't be asking permission to, either! But it gets spun as if it is all about women being in control and assertive.

Haha its crazy that even the lines they say are managed by the producers.
Samie never in her life would have said that line.
At the time I rolled my eyes, it seemed like such a stilted awkward thing to say.
What were the producers thinking. I've never heard anyone any age say that phrase.
Oh and Olivia forgetting Kai s name. She was probably told to say that!!
