Omg that was cringe. Awful. Most of Will's reasons for loving Jessie were all about Will. Horrible.

I'm not getting all the Cynthia love at all. I thought she was ok but nothing special. And her upset when Casey didn't choose her seemed OTT (from the Jessie school of reactions).

By contrast, I think Lydia really stood out. Not classically beautifully but very attractive. She seemed very well balanced for a Love Island wannabe and showed impressive composure when she wasn't picked. She deserves better than that idiot Tom so hopefully she realises now that she had a lucky escape.

I was not a fan of Cynthia either, and she made me cringe when she slathered all over Casey to try and get picked. Then she had a face like a slapped arse when he picked the other girl.

Olivia is pathetic. Demanding an apology from Kai, for bringing another girl in, when SHE came in with another boy! Can she not see how much in the wrong she is here? Agree with a pp that Kai and Sanam are a much better match. Olivia is uptight and snooty and boring, and Sanam seems like a fun girl. Olivia has no connection with her new boy either tbh. Dull as ditchwater he is, and they have zero chemistry or connection.

Olivia really thinks a lot of herself. She thinks she's the boss babe in there because she's a bit older, she puts on a fake posh accent, and she's deluded, as she thinks Kai should say sorry when he has done fuck all wrong. Also, I think she's trying to place herself as the top girl in the villa, and be the Love Island Winter 2023's most memorable girl.

Agree with @autienotnaughty Tom and Samie are as boring as fuck, and there is zero chemistry there too.

Not buying Will and Jessie at ALL. Can't put my finger on it why. Nothing about them actually adds up. I think Jessie wants them to win. I don't think they will, but on the other hand I don't know who will win, because I don't think there's a single solid couple in there.

I have no idea who that Jordan is but I love him! He's hilarious.

It’s Jordan Stephen’s from grime duo Rizzle Kicks. He’s also dating Jade Thirlwall. Him and Maya are on the tv program Don’t hate the playaz together so they’re friends. He was telling it how it is on Aftersun!

CrkdLttrCrkdLttr · 20/02/2023 10:38

Oh - so are all the ‘fans’ famous people? Think I’ve only seen two episodes of Aftersun in my life (the last two) and I thought the two fans each seemed remarkably at ease on TV … Blush

Jordan was excellent though!

JL642 · 20/02/2023 10:43

Didn’t enjoy last nights episode - I was expecting more drama!

Keen to know what happens with Tanya and Shaq. Glad Lana told Tanya she was effectively in the wrong - think there should be more of that!

She even actually muttered something along the lines of she was a hypocrite herself at one point, but then quickly brushed over it, as though simply mentioning it without addressing it was enough 🙄

Do you think she is trying to create drama? Desperately trying to stay in? Or simply deluded? Or on drugs!

Same questions apply to Tanya.

Because it appears to me it's for solidarity reasons. Why else would you think someone who has acted like Tanya deserves to win? Indiyah wants Shaq and Tanya to win and they're not even currently in a couple.

You are 100% correct!

Thank you, I've heard of Rizzle Kicks at least 😳

@CrkdLttrCrkdLttr Same. I thought he was just a superfan, not a celeb. His legs kept wiggling and I assumed it was nerves 😂

I remember Brian Belo from big brother was a superfan prior to entering the house and after. Loved that he knew EVERYTHING about big brother but had no idea who William Shakespeare was 😂😂

Well a lot of young women want Ron and Lana to win despite the fact that he has treated her like shit.
Last season many of my daughter’s friends wanted Luca and Gemma to win despite the fact that Luca was bloody awful.

I don’t think there are clear winners this year, so I don’t know what the big deal is if Indiyah supports Tanya and Shaq

I think Olivia is both deluded and desperate to win. She's clearly massively aware of the cameras and has done amazingly to bite her tongue and compose herself for 'her' public... until Casa. It's all starting to slip now.

Tanya I'm unsure if calculated, immature, or a mixture of both.

Olivia is a strange one. It is almost as though she will do anything to get attention
Tanya is not calculated she is just very immature and quite silly tbh. I honestly don’t think she has a game plan. She does what she feels like doing but no one but her understands why she behaves in such a ridiculous manner.

MadamArcati99 · 20/02/2023 11:19

To be fair, the main thing on all the contestants minds is building a media career after LI. A desire for Relationships and connections for their own sake, are very secondary, if not completely absent

Yes I agree wholeheartedly with this and it was the same last year.

It’s more like BB really at this stage except it’s based around a theme of ‘coupling up’.

CellophaneFlower · 20/02/2023 11:28

I think I'd want whichever girl to win that called out Olivia and Tanya over their behaviour, regardless of who they were coupled with. It's such a shame none of them will speak out in fear of isolating themselves. Sanam is already concerned about doing just that by spending too much time with Kai. Not really her place to go wading in already though, I get that. If anybody should, it should be Lana, but she's such a wet blanket that will never happen.

kenyaswhiterefrigerator · 20/02/2023 11:31

I just think Tanya is young and seeking attention.

She wanted Shaq and Martin fighting over her and all the drama involved with making such a difficult decision.

Unfortunately Shaq just backed off and ended it and Martin clearly expects Tanya to be doing all the work.

Not sure why she is surprised by any of this. Shaq has demonstrated having clear boundaries regarding respect in relationships (Ron and how he was treating Lana) and Martin made entirely no effort in Casa and expected Tanya to graft for him.

She'll want to go back to Shaq it depends on if his pride can overcome what she has done

Zampa · 20/02/2023 11:34

I don't like Ron but do think him and Lana are a believable couple so probably could win, unless Tom and Samie build up something more.

I think that if Shaq and Tanya reunite, it will be for "love". I don't think either of them are playing the game. Therefore, they're in my final three.

Jessie and Will will probably be up there too.

Rollergirl11 · 20/02/2023 11:41

I think she wants to create enough of a fuss to ensure that she’s memorable. I genuinely think she was hoping some of her snappy one-liners at the Casa Amor recoupling would become LI legendary memes. Like Shaughna’s “congrats, hon” and Indiyah’s “may the best heartbreaker win”. But she misjudged it and massively over egged it. And now I think she feels like she can’t back down. Ekin-Sue was pegged as a trouble maker with her amateur dramatics last year and then went on to win. I wonder if Olivia is trying to create something similar? Difference being that Ekin had Davide who the public adored.

Chasedbythechaser · 20/02/2023 11:46

She doesn’t seem to particularly like Shaq though. She much preferred Martin before she realised he was not going to tolerate her nonsense and he thinks HE is the prize, not her.

I hope Shaq doesn’t back down and they put some women who are his type on paper, into the villa. He could still make a stab at winning.

The other big prob is there is a clique and people are frightened of Olivia. Her speech to Sanam where she declared the girls are a friendly crowd who all get along well came across more like a veiled threat that they can easily exclude her. I think the dynamics would change dramatically if Olivia left and we just might get to see more personalities emerging. But she’s currently the only one adding drama.

Lans is a terribly wet contestant. Samie is ok and has the confidence of a hood looking person. Will is awful. Jessie is fake. Claudia seems fiery and fun but Casey is a sleaze. I don’t know what to make of Tom. His accent makes me think he is nicer than he really is!
I can’t even remember the others names. Such a poor cast this year overall.

CarpyDiem · 20/02/2023 11:50

EkinSu and Davide were scoring really highly in all the public votes (and we saw from the proportions in the final vote just how far behind all the other couples were) so the producers had a very clear "spine" around which to hang the show.

I doubt very much that it's anything like as clear cut this series. BTW - they use popularity data from the little quizzes on the app about things like "which girl would you most like cocktails with?" or "which kiss took you most by surprise?" to inform their decisions on what to encourage and what to show. So if you do vote, do remember to do the polls as well.

I always suspect (speculating, I really don't know) that there are a couple of Islanders on some sort of "deal" to be glad handed to the later stages (or even final) if they play ball. For example I thought that of Tommy and Curtis (esp as Curtis was so dire but seemingly teflon). I think Gemma was in that situation too. If/if that's happening this time, the ones I suspect are beneficiaries are Will and Olivia

I’ve often thought this too!

Ekin Su and Davide were very entertaining to watch. He was besotted with himself and was very funny at times. She added drama and was obviously acting yet still came across well. They were made for tv and were a great double act.

CellophaneFlower · 20/02/2023 12:10

I liked Gemma. I liked her for the same reasons I liked Olivia originally, I'm wondering if she's modelled herself on her a bit? Obviously Luca was a tool though. The oddest thing about them was that they declared themselves in love, but felt it too much of a big step to become exclusive in the villa. How backwards is that?! Although it works for Tanya I guess 🤦

ChipsAreLife · 20/02/2023 12:15

Aghhh Tanya! What are you on about?! She doesn't like either of them, she's trying to create drama and a storyline but she's not convincing anyone.

Olivia is awful. This has done wonders for Kai, he's come out of it looking so normal.

Ron's set himself up for movie night. But I still think in the chat with Tom he meant you may be dumped if you don't recouple. But that can't actually be said!

CellophaneFlower · 20/02/2023 12:24

Ron's set himself up for movie night. But I still think in the chat with Tom he meant you may be dumped if you don't recouple.

I think Tom's response to that got him brownie points for me, as didn't he say he'd rather chance that than recoupling just to guarantee staying in, or something along those lines? To me, this makes him a better person than Kai, who wouldn't have recoupled had he not thought there was a chance he'd end up at risk.

NameChangePoP · 20/02/2023 13:00

I'm very surprised more of the girls haven't told Tanya what a complete tit she's being. Also disappointed with the lack of 'entertainment' this year, but Maya was made for the presenting role.

Tanya - Cannot stand her high pitched screams and over inflated ego. Very deluded in thinking that both the boys should wait and graft for her. She can go.

Lana - Lovely girl, sadly not given enough screen time. Feel so sorry for her though because Ron has well and truly pulled the wool over her eyes.

Olivia - Thinks she's Queen Bee, rates herself too highly. No idea why she thinks Kai should apologise - but he's much better off without her. She clearly still wants Tom.

Claudia - Seems nice enough, can do better than Casey though.

Sammie - Stunning. Says it how it is.

Jessie - On the fence. I want to believe she's genuine about Will.

Ron - Arsehole. His treatment of the girls was awful. His egging on of the boys was awful. Massive game player. He can go.

Kai - Will do much better he's ditched Olivia.

Shaq - Love him. But if he takes Tanya back he's a moron. He needs a girl to go in and sweep him off his feet.

Tom - Good looking, boring as hell. Wouldn't trust him.

Will - Genuinely can't decide if he's gay or straight.

Casey - I liked him at first. Now I think he's in it for the fame and is just using Claudia.

Wish the producers would throw some fireworks in now - and hurry up with movie night! I'd also love for movie night to show clips of the girls bitching about each other (cough cough Olivia)
