Just posting for anyone who hasn't seen it.

The only write up I have seen says it is a bit Downton Abbeyish - but presumably with nice mediterranean landscape.

Just seen this that explains more:

First Impressions

During the 1920s, Rose and her mother, Julia, arrive at an Italian hotel to evaluate a prospective marriage with Lucian, the war veteran son of the residence's proprietors. But his mother, Bella, has more immediate worries - her most critical guest, Lady Latchmere, has fallen ill.

Drama, starring Natascha McElhone and Louisa Binder

Anybody watching? Not exactly gripped by it by mildly pleasant..

NomDePrune · 03/02/2023 21:44

More of a Sunday evening one really

IwantToRetire · 04/02/2023 19:18

Very pretty.

Suitable for vegging out after a hard day.

Yes, it was harmless but didn't find any of the characters engaging, can take it or leave it for the next episode.

KrasiTime · 06/02/2023 19:03

Thought it was a bit dull & didn’t really like any of the characters same as pp.

I just finished this last night, and as was suggested when first advertised very much on Downton Abbey style.

Very pretty to look at and just a hint that life was not all champagne and party games.

The only thing that jarred was in the final episode they started talking about sisterhood.

Not that I'm against it, but really dont think anyone used that word at that time, and seemed an unecessary and rather crude way of telling the uadience this was the underlying theme of the series? Or maybe not. But it just didn't fit in.

But as said up thread. Easy sunday evening type viewing.

I am loving it for the scenery alone. The rise of Mussolini is not a period I've seen much about . Perfect Sunday night telly.

Yes its lovely to look at. I think it was filmed in Croatia.

Just to say this series is being reshown on U tv.

Series 1 starts tonight and apparently there is a series 2 & 3.

Some "adult" themes but mainly easy watching (well series 1 was)

I couldn't see series 2 & 3 on the web site so wonder if I misread the article - if I have, sorry.

Thought I would series 1 to my watchlist and hope that in time the later series will appear!
