Nolly - ITVX, Just excellent 👏👏

Anyone else watched it yet? I’d Highly recommend. 3 parts, all available now. I’m old enough to remember Crossroads and Noele Gordon playing Meg. Wonderful drama about her sacking created by Russell T Davis and starring Helena BC who is just perfect casting.

I’ve never seen Crossroads nor barely heard of Noelle Gordon, but I absolutely loved it.

I thought Helena Bonham Carter was fab and I wept at the end.

It made me watch old interviews with NG. She was a striking beauty. She seemed so loved by all who knew her.

HeavenIsaHalfPipe should have written the script, her format would have been much better. I remember NG as sounding (if not looking) more like Peggy Mount. We used to copy her "wh" sounds which were like the wind blowing through the first part of a word. Overall I enjoyed it. That was not Mark Rylance as Larry Grayson, it was Mark Gatiss

I giggled when the chef - Shuie McFee (or whatever he was called) came out

Did anyone else notice Tony Adams (Adam Chance) at the very end, he was sat down clapping with a Jane Rossington look alike.

No - It was actually Susan Hanson - who played Miss Diane

It was OK, that’s all. Not for one moment did I confuse HBC with NG but I like HBC, much more than I ever did NG, so that’s OK. I do think only half the story was told though, I’d like to have seen how she started to work at ATV behind the scenes and later Lunchbox (oh memories of watching that at my grandmother’s) and then moved on to Crossroads. How much of this was all do to her relationship with Val Parnell, the MD of ATV?

There is a documentary on ITV2 about her which I preferred

I saw the last episode today and I have really enjoyed it.

My mum was a big fan of Crossroads so we always had this on just after tea and, even though I haven't seen it or thought about it for more than 30 years, I could instantly tell who all the characters in Nolly were meant to be.

I liked HBC in this, but then I like her in just about anything

I watched the last episode last night. And as a non Crossroads viewer was not really that interested to begin with. Also find HBC is always HBC.

But ... what a story, or rather what a life.

And what a tragic miserable explantion as to why she was sacked. And if it were fiction you would say this never happened, how she found out.

And the bit about Val Parnell!

I wasn't aware of any of that.

But will now try and find the documentary mentioned up thread.

I was coming on here, to point out how I am gobsmacked at how often ITV advertise Nolly. I think since it was first aired 6 weeks ago, it has been advertised EVERY DAY, and on most breaks on ITV1, ITV2, ITV3, ITV4, and also ITVbe.

I wonder if maybe there's hardly any people watching it, because I have never seen them push anything so much!!!

@HeavenIsAHalfpipe , ITVX was launched on Sky last week so this is the first chance I've had to watch it for free but with long annoying ad breaks. I'm on episode 2 so far.
