Why on earth can Love Island still go ahead after 3 suicides?

Yet Jeremy Kyle was axed at 1?
Both ITV shows.

The loved ones of those who died must absolutely resent seeing it go ahead now twice a year..

Surely if there's a 3rd they will have to axe it???

Because it makes everyone involved lots of money.

Because it is aimed at morons
Morons will watch it
It is much cheaper than making real programmes

I know. I only watched the series with Mike Thallasitis who later died by suicide. Then of course there’s Caroline Flack and another earlier contestant Sophie Gradon whose boyfriend also died by suicide a few weeks after her. So technically it’s already contributed to four suicides.

But they get around it by saying they now have better mental health care for contestants & that the show didn’t directly contribute to their deaths. I don’t know enough about that but I know I don’t want to watch it!

Am not sure you can blame CF's suicide on the format of LI.

I think in the case of Jeremy Kyle there were probably executives wanting to end the show.

I agree well said. It is such a pointless show now and should have been axed when those terrible deaths happened as messes up so many young people's lives. Pointless show and adds nothing to anyone's life just fake people who are all in it for the money and pretend they are in love.

I do watch it.

But all of the challenges with skimpy outfits where they have to practical do a strip tease. The have I never game where they have to be as slaggy as possible and standing in a line like they are at a cattle market makes me cringe.

I just watch as thought it's a soap. It's not reality they are acting. They know the premise.
