I think Craig was probably slightly blindsided by Alex's youth and beauty and so more inclined to trust her.

I'm surprised Chloe even made it onto the show and wasn't weeded out by the psychological screening.

I agree the U.K. one was somehow more compelling but really the Aussies played the game much more how it is supposed to be played.

Lentilweaver · 05/01/2023 08:14

Still think Alex was a deserving winner. She definitely did not just bat her lids and cry.
She got out Machiavellian Marielle and tough Nigel who described her as " cannon fodder".
She recruited Kate bcos she knew she was a Traitor Hunter so better get her out of the way, leaving Craig free to blindside.
She was quiet at table so the Traitors thought she was a sweet young girl/bimbo, but her behind the scenes play was second to none. They should have picked Paul!

Perhaps. Bit he never strongly accused anyone really. I think he's just a nice guy that was trusting

Craig just did what Nigel told him to, until the very end. When Nigel went off, he made a sweeping gesture towards where Alex was sitting, and I almost thought he was doing a Kieran!

I liked Teresa a lot too. She was so funny.

LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet · 05/01/2023 11:52

Wow wasn’t expecting it to be in the same venue/location and same tasks as the UK one!

00100001 · 05/01/2023 11:55

ugh...celebrities

I wonder if the slebs will take home the money, or be compelled to give to charity - as would normally happen in these kind of things?

so there's a potential dilemma of joe Bloggs "denying" £200k to charity?

I do wish Alex and Kate had decided to share the prize and spared Craig (and us) from his humiliation.

However, the episode when Marielle was blindsided was brilliant TV.

BuzzBeeEmoticon · 07/01/2023 22:21

I was gutted by the ending. Really wanted Craig to win after reading his story Sad I was happy to see Craig, Nigel and Justine working together afterwards though!

BCxx · 07/01/2023 23:44

Just finished it and here to share everything I’ve been waiting to off load 😂

  1. I love Nigel. He’s my favourite human on earth, sooo wanted him to go all the way. His biggest mistake was not voting Marielle, he’s just too loyal when everyone else would have stabbed him in the back so fast.
  2. I had no real sympathy for Craig by the end, usually I’d feel so bad for someone in that situation. Alex was all over him, touching him constantly and I think he was fooled by that and her looks. He would have done anything she said and it took him until the last second to even realise.
  3. I’d have felt worse for him if Kate had won but I wanted her to win. She’d played a great game and was one of the main characters.
  4. Kate needed Lewis to stay in, I have no idea why she voted him out, she let herself be fenced in to that situation. Craig was always going to side with Alex.
  5. Craig and Paul only emerged a few episodes from the end and Paul said about three words the entire series! Even when they were voting, you’d just see him hold up his vote and the camera would go to the next person without even hearing his reasons or anything.
  6. The lack of fire throwing colour changing thing at the end like the UK one was disappointing!
BCxx · 07/01/2023 23:50

Also when Alex was given the choice of who to recruit I cannot understand why she wouldn’t have picked Lewis since everyone was gunning for him that night anyway. Would have been a simple case of Lewis you’re out, oh, traitor, well that’s it then, we’re all faithful. She got there in the end but I couldn’t see a way round Kate being there for her at first

00100001 · 08/01/2023 08:03

The melodrama was amazing in the UK version for sure!

Kate did say she did not realise how tight the bond between Amex and Craig was until it was too late. If she had seen the alliance earlier then I think she would have worked in Lewis more and tried to get Alex out.
Don’t forget the contestants did not hear and see everything we do.
I did feel sorry for Craig but now people have said he was only interested in Alex because she was young, thin and pretty I am agreeing more that he deserved it. He didn’t act the same with say Teresa did he?

QuizteamAguillera · 08/01/2023 09:37

Just binged this.

Felt so bad for Craig,if I was Alex I would have blurred out that I’d give him some money 😂.

Scottish Castle much better location obvs. I also fast forwarded through some of the tasks.

BCxx · 08/01/2023 11:44

@QuizteamAguillera such a better location, was not impressed with that hotel at all, it didn’t look nice from the outside. I would definitely have had to say I’d give him something too. When she nodded to try and tell him I thought omg just say it 😩

@Penguinsaregreat yeah thats true and Craig did lie to Kate and say he’d vote Alex I think too so she maybe thought Craig was going to side with her. I found Craig quite creepy with all the touchy feely-ness with Alex. She couldn’t care less about him or the fact he lost the money 🙈

Thanks @TyneTeas This is very exciting news!!!!

gorillalala · 13/01/2023 12:34

I’ve just finished watching and WHAT a last few episodes they were!

I’m SO annoyed that Alex won, I know she played the game well (and I probably would have done similar in her position - i.e. if the group is gunning for a fellow traitor, you sort of have to too to save yourself, don’t you?) ….. but people who are smug about throwing other people under the bus really piss me off - as if it can never happen to them. I was so glad Marielle got banished the way she did for that reason, but Alex just got more and more cocky after that. I wanted Kate to win, she played well towards the end, when we started to see more of her.

Craig … pfff… I did feel a tiny bit sorry for him but also it serves him right for literally NEVER suspecting Alex right to the end. He was so blindly infatuated that he didn’t even have one tiny bit of doubt?? Even after Nigel was revealed to be a traitor (who he 100% trusted) - surely that should tell him that anything is possible and literally anyone could be a traitor.. lol. So yeah, think he was a bit naive really.

Overall I preferred the Aus one way more than the UK one. I personally don’t really care about getting to know the contestants much, I prefer seeing more of the gameplay. And I liked that they discussed tactics and votes more openly - it leads to much more possibility of spotting people’s body language changes and so on. And as much as I like Claudia, I don’t get why everyone is hating on Roger - he was fine! I mean, most of what he says is just scripted surely (to the PP who said they didn’t like him dropping clues in the banishments)??

ellebelli · 13/01/2023 13:13

The whole paul thing was crazy weird! Why was he edited out to that degree?and he got so far too.
Craig was the same in the earlier episodes.
I suppose they wanted to show the ones who got booted out first, but it still doesn't explain Paul.
Liked Kate and would have preferred her to win.
Alex played them all though so well done to her.

The weirdest thing is NO-ONE KNOWS WHY!

I read two theories online:

  1. That he had a huge, vicious argument with Theresa that got edited out - www.reddit.com/r/RealityTVAustralia/comments/ylwbnw/the_traitors_whats_the_deal_with_paul/

  2. He works for the FBI and CIA (confirmed) and they possibly requested due to the nature of his work he doesn't get any airtime - www.reddit.com/r/TheTraitors/comments/zufdra/au_version_question_about_a_certain_contestant/

Patineur · 16/01/2023 02:08

I think Mark was right about Chloe's correct guesses - they weren't down to psychic power but the fact that you need to be good at reading body language to do that work at all.

Phos · 16/01/2023 08:19

I’ve almost finished this. Or should I say I had almost finished. I’d unfortunately seen a spoiler (not on here) so I know who wins and I simply don’t want to see it. I’ll watch the end of this one because I’m pretty sure the wonderful Nigel will be gone and I want to see their reaction to finding out just who he is but beyond that, nope. Alex is just awful. Nasty, manipulative, backstabbing piece of work who was given a massive advantage by being recruited so far into the series. They made a mistake choosing her but probably didn’t realise just how conniving a bitch she was. Especially the way she threw Nigel under the bus. I’ve felt this throughout the Aussie one though, there was a real undercurrent of nastiness that didn’t seem present in the U.K. one.

Chloe was awful. Most of what she said was wrong so that’s her credibility in tatters but also the “can I be excused” in banishment. Give me a break. Glad she went.
