A quiet corner of MN for serious addicts of Kdrama, or the K-curious. Most of our viewing is drawn from Netflix and Viki, with a sprinkling of AmazonPrime, AppleTV and Disney+. There are also platforms streaming content illegally if you go looking. We don’t promote them as they are peppered with pop-ups of “Olga” and friends offering a good time, but we can point you in the right direction. We also dip into Japanese, Taiwanese & Chinese drama as & when.

Shows marked with an asterisk are more uniformly loved or admired. In categorising series, its important to note most Korean dramas have multiple strands - e.g. supernatural, romance and a thriller; crime series with fantasy elements. Genre-busting mash-ups are normal. Series that are tagged as dark may also have moments of comedy or the absurd, likewise fluff can have heavier moments. Writer/actor Simon Pegg referred to it fondly as “tonal chaos” - it’s part of kdrama’s charm. We are generally fans of all things Korean, so equally happy to talk about Korean cookery, language, film and music when the mood takes us. A few of us are learning Korean, Japanese and/or Mandarin (some more diligently than others admittedly), so we swap tips and links to language resources. Basically, anything topical goes.

Today is a stay in bed and binge dramas all day kind of day…with the frost and cold outside. Unfortunately life got in the way and have been busy out of home. Now back in bed and going to watch Dylan Wang in Love between Fairy and Devil. I half like it and half don’t. Am 7 episodes in…is it worth continuing?

I’m missing Jung So-Min in this AOS redux. 😕 She had such great screen chemistry with Lee Jae-Wook.

Cocoisablessing I've been watching Love Between Fairy and Devil with DH, so haven't been getting through it very quickly as I have to wait for him, but I'm really enjoying it, if mostly for Dylan Wang's facial expressions, which are absolutely priceless, even DH finds his annoyed face amusing. Story wise it keeps evolving, so I'd say keep going, at least until the bit where Dylan Wang suddenly and unexpectedly whips his shirt off for no apparent reason (or have you already got to that bit? I'm still not quite sure why it was necessary although obviously I'm not complaining. 😀)

Yes, same here. It feels very different without her. It would help if it made more sense plot wise but it doesn't so far in the one episode I've seen.

Same here - just watched first episode & it feels like atleast one episode is missing in between.
Hopefully in flashback story will become clear. I miss the livelinesses of s1.
S2 is sadder & serious, I am missing friendship of 3 mages & Jung So-Min’s daring antics.

@Cocoisablessing I found the enjoyment level of LBFAD didn't vary much throughout the series. It wasn't great but wasn't bad either. I persisted as it was my first c-drama and I wanted see it in its entirety. You won't miss much if you drop if it's already a "meh" for you.
