A quiet corner of MN for serious addicts of Kdrama, or the K-curious. Most of our viewing is drawn from Netflix and Viki, with a sprinkling of AmazonPrime, AppleTV and Disney+. There are also platforms streaming content illegally if you go looking. We don’t promote them as they are peppered with pop-ups of “Olga” and friends offering a good time, but we can point you in the right direction. We also dip into Japanese, Taiwanese & Chinese drama as & when.

Shows marked with a star are more uniformly loved or admired. In categorising series, its important to note most Korean dramas have multiple strands - e.g. supernatural, romance and a thriller; crime series with fantasy elements. Genre-busting mash-ups are normal. Series that are tagged as dark may also have moments of comedy or the absurd, likewise fluff can have heavier moments. Writer/actor Simon Pegg referred to it fondly as “tonal chaos” - it’s part of kdrama’s charm. View the categories below as best approximate & ask if you need guidance about suitability for younger viewers.

We are generally fans of all things Korean, so equally happy to talk about Korean cookery, language, film and music when the mood takes us. A few of us are learning Korean, Japanese and/or Mandarin (some more diligently than others admittedly), so we swap tips and links to language resources. Basically, anything topical goes.

Andante, when I called Inside Asia I believe I spoke to the very cheerful Holly too. I'm not loving the very limited SK itinerary from my local travel agent and when I phoned Wendy Wu, while they do have an interesting Japan/SK option, the agent sounded like an impatient/rude prick, until he gave me a price and I didn't splutter. I will continue looking at options for the next few months.

The consultant is really nice and took time to tailor what I want, as well as ringing me to help go over flight options and stuff. No hard selling of extras or anything.

Yes they were fantastic once we were there. The visa slip-up was quite a mistake (though all would’ve been well if we’d ticked ‘British Citizen’ and not ‘British Subject’ when we filled in the application at the airport).

FedUp I’m not sure but please get it checked out as our experience was extremely stressful. I wrote about on here, but to recap, we got to check in only to be told we needed a visa. Our hearts sank, but they said don’t worry, you can apply online and it will take half an hour.
Fortunately I’ve turned into my mother and we get to airports and stations etc with more than enough time.
The app for the visa application was a nightmare and kept crashing, but eventually we did it, sent it off, and waited….
50 minutes later it came back. Application refused as we’d ticked British Subject not British Citizen.
By now it was 7.50pm and the flight closed at 8pm…..

I'm travelling as an Irish citizen so will make sure I read up on it. Thanks for the important reminder!
