Anyone else looking forward to this? I've followed them all on social media since the first season, it will be interesting to see what went on behind the scenes.

Batsheva is a pretty girl but that is as far as it goes. She doesn't seem to have any drive or know how, she's been living off Julia all this time. It's going to hit the children very hard when the money dries up.

I also find it weird that Julia starts dating again. She preaches about not needing men and wanting to just be her. But then goes to a match maker to find her someone. Maybe she should try being single for a bit. As Mrs Doubtfire said "Let your sheets cool down before you bring someone else into the bed".

brummyMumm80 · 05/12/2022 16:23

Omg what a waste of my time. I really feel sorry for Aaron, Julia is just a narcissistic tasteless woman. No dignity it was so cringing watching her get off with the 23 year old boy and then boasting about it the next day in front of her grown son! 😳

fucketyfuckwit · 05/12/2022 21:08

She is so painfully thin ☹️

fucketyfuckwit · 06/12/2022 21:56

Ra'ed is so so awful.

Flapjackquack · 06/12/2022 22:33

I’ve just finished season 2, I agreed with Julia saying no to Aron. She is right to insist he finishes a proper education. He can become a Rabbi after that. I didn’t feel sorry for him really, he came across as a typical petulant teenager. I also agreed that Miriam shouldn’t be getting married. I am sure Miriam is glad she didn’t now, given they’ve broken up.

Apart from that they are all pretty insufferable. It’s like Kardashian’s lite isn’t it? I always found it a bit strange Julia talks about this awful life but gets on fine with her ex husband who seems nice, as does his new wife. I don’t doubt she has trauma but I would love to know the true story of it all. She is completely enmeshed with her children. Her reliance on Miriam is particularly alarming as is her weight.

Will be interesting to see the outcome of the divorce, the chef, driver and butler may have to go!

jay55 · 06/12/2022 22:39

I've only managed half the first episode of the new series but want to get to some of the events mentioned in the thread so will try again when I have time.

I do love that the divorce is basically due to Silva hating the parasitic kids.

LisaJool · 09/12/2022 12:35

I've only watched the first episode but Julia was so stupid to marry Silvio when he made it clear he didn't want a life that revolved around (adult) dc. She thought he was "going to fall in love with them" 🙄 It must have been such a horrible atmosphere for them at home, feel very sorry for poor Arron. I think Julia is much more in touch with her Jewish background than she realizes.

OP posts:
Flapjackquack · 09/12/2022 12:39

I’ve seen that Silvio is already engaged to another woman who has a teenage son. Thought that was interesting!

@LisaJool - Do you think Julia was wrong to stop Aron from going to Yeshiva? I thought it was quite reasonable to say education first then you can dedicate your life to religious study. I don’t think he is ready at 15 to stop his secular education personally.

LisaJool · 09/12/2022 12:50

@Flapjackquack he must be similar to Julia in the sense that he can't do without a partner. I can't understand how Julia fell madly in love with him knowing that he didn't even want to eat a meal with her children. Hopefully Silvio's new fiancee has a less dependent dc!
I haven't got to the yeshiva bit yet, but I don't think she should stop him. Shlomo has a degree and that doesn't seem to have helped him get a job 🤔 From what I know the yeshiva is a temporary thing, it's not for life. Arron is following a path that neither parent went down (his dad and his wife's family are now modern orthodox) he's probably looking for a stable sense of family. Julia doesn't exactly raise independent children from what we've seen.

@LisaJool The new partners son looks to be about 14 so I’d think more dependant but I doubt could be more enmeshed then Julia’s!

Sorry, I thought you’d watched it all, but the Yeshiva they are referring to is more of the ultra-orthodox variety. He would stop high school completely and go to the Yeshiva for a number of years where they do very very little secular studies and focus almost exclusively on religious texts to become a Rabbi. He would effectively only be educated up to the start of GCSE level and no further in maths, English, Science etc. I am not religious so I am coming from the opposite place of bias to Aron but I’d be horrified if my child tried to drop out of school to join the Catholic priesthood at 15. It’s a similar thing. Aron is also leaning to the more fundamentalist end of Judaism and I can see how that would worry a parent who wasn’t. They make the point that Aron was modern Orthodox not less than a year ago so it’s not a wise decision to go down such a narrow career path at 15.

THisbackwithavengeance · 09/12/2022 15:58

I honestly don't blame Silvio.

When you see some of the SC threads on here with posters complaining about their DSCs over the smallest things, I always think what poor Silvio had to put up with, having to live with an attention seeking, workshy and parasitic bunch of brats that Julia has produced. And there is literally zero chance of them ever supporting themselves or just fucking off.

And then the way that she gave them all top jobs in Elite. The blatant nepotism of it.

I don't know why I watch it because I dislike them all so much.

LisaJool · 09/12/2022 16:36

For someone who triumphs on her independence, Julia has been very keen to keep her children co-dependent. @THisbackwithavengeance it wasn't just her dc, it was their partners and friends too. That would drive anyone mad.

gruffalosbrother · 09/12/2022 17:19

Julia is absolutely 100% right to stop Aron going to Yeshiva at 15. She has found him the perfect compromise in the religious high school which combines secular and religious studies. She not stopping him becoming a rabbi, she just wants him to have options and she’s happy to pay for further tutoring in religious studies on top of his high school. It was the one time I felt she was acting like a responsible parent and absolutely acting in the best interests of her child

JustDanceAddict · 09/12/2022 17:49

Agree re the yeshiva. He’s only 15 and def needs to graduate first.

LisaJool · 09/12/2022 18:22

Apparently Silvio fell in love with his fiancee due to "her commitment to traditional family values" 🤔. She has a lot of photos of them having dinner with her 2 dc, so either he just didn't like Julia's children or else he's hoping once they turn 18 they'll fly the nest.

OP posts:
mscynical · 10/12/2022 15:34

Why does Julia wear such horrible outfits? I guess they are all very expensive but she looks so bloody cheap and trashy. Nothing fits around the crotch or lower bottom area. Concave area between tits and showing off midriff, top of thighs and boob area does nothing for her at all.

LisaJool · 10/12/2022 15:58

Yes the 4 inch gap between the boobs is most bizarre.

OP posts:
Flapjackquack · 10/12/2022 16:13

I assume she has had breast implants given how tiny her frame is versus the size of them. I do fear for her health.

Radyward · 10/12/2022 19:14

Agree her upper chest area is totally strange. Love miriam-looks so healthy and not a rake thin skinny minnie..TG she didnt marry Natalie.. Batsheva doesnt know what to be doin with her life- im following her on insta .im looking forward to the divorce battle extraordinaire. Theres Julia buying a house to turn into a refuge for women and then saying lawyers bills are piling up
What a situation to be in
.living in silvios 65 million dollar penthouse

Flapjackquack · 10/12/2022 19:23

Apparently she’s not living there and is trying to rent it out!

SpotlessMind88 · 10/12/2022 21:44

Flapjackquack · 10/12/2022 19:23

Apparently she’s not living there and is trying to rent it out!

I heard that too. The penthouse is owned by Freedom Holdings (Silvio's company) and Julia was a mere tenant that had exclusive use of the property. With Julia being unemployed now, maybe she couldn't afford the maintenance fees for the property anymore

JustDanceAddict · 11/12/2022 07:46

What happened with the new company they were trying to set up w Miriam - at 22 - as chief CTO?!

Radyward · 11/12/2022 11:00

This is just fascinating stuff!!julia unemployed
Renting out the penthouse - can she even do that????
Her elite company credit cards were also stopped when she was fired.
What is she going to do??
She will get a settlement out of the divorce but Silvio has the means and top lawyers to give her as little as possible.
Where is she living ?
Funding the whole lot of them
What of robert ?? He was fired too. Then trying broadway ,- the singers in the westend are paid poorly.
I CANNOT wait for season 3
Will she have to head back to the community ?
Saw on insta she was at an event where President Biden attended. She wore this boob tube showing her midriff under a matching jacket.like seriously . Like put the boobs away.
Netflix must be funding her from the series.
Shlomo needs to get a job.they all do soooo spoiled

BiscuitLover3678 · 11/12/2022 18:26

I’ve just finished it, I like it. I don’t get all the Julia hate. I know she’s in no way perfect, can be overly controlling and some things will be exaggerated and rehashed for the tv, but I still think she’s incredibly clever and inspirational to get where she did (even if it did involve finding and sleeping with such a wealthy person). I think she loves her kids a lot and does the best for them at the end of the day.
I do think she hasn’t quite integrated into the real world though. She is overly inappropriate (don’t forget her taking about Bat’s sex life in her book!!) and clearly has an ED which is really sad. I don’t know how the two girls have turned out so healthy but thank god.

Both Raed and Natalie came across as gold diggers. I got the impressed Rob was very unsure for most of the series, but poor Miriam seemed completely taken with Natalie.
